The man who entered the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection and was photographed in the office of then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was convicted on Monday of eight federal crimes related to the incident, including four felonies.

Richard “Rigo” Barnett, 62, was convicted of all the charges filed against him after nine days of testimony in the trial in Washington. The jury reached a decision in less than two hours, according to The Washington Post.

His most serious conviction was obstructing an official government proceeding, with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. His sentencing is set for May 3, but he was allowed by the judge to remain in home detention until then.

For what? Tracking dirt on Pelosi’s desk?

Who would have thought that “insurrection” would one day be defined as taking selfies with your feet propped up on a desk.

Ya, put this guy in a cage for 20 years because he walked around the Capitol and sat in Pelosi’s chair.

Maybe the death penalty would appease these lying misfits.

I bet if he was smoking a cigarette he would have gotten the death penalty.

This man should have been treated just like most of the Dem’s constituents...fined, a small amount of jail time, or outright released.

I have lost track of how many times leftist demonstrators have raided a congressman’s office or better put “occupied” it.

This is an injustice.

But burning cities?

A ‘mostly peaceful protest’ in our world today.

For what?

Criminal trespass on government property.

Nobody has the right to enter those offices uninvited. They don't even take tours into those regions. Many of those Jan 6 rioters DID behave very stupidly. Many did not. There is a lot of misery caused by stupid people.

How many 100s of times did leftwing moonbats disrupt congress during the Bush administration to protest the war or any other cause.

They were a regular daily feature on the hill. They would be escorted from the building and released. No prosecutions, not even a civil fine.

It seems that "obstructing an official government proceeding" is a handy new thing.

#9: "DC JURY"

Yep. DC jury: unemployed dark skinned welfare bums who think a daily stipend for jury duty means that their "ship has come in". The bonus is that it's a chance to get whitey.

DC is one of darkest burgs in the USA. Always has been. It's well known among lawyers that if you can get your venue transferred to DC, you've won your case.

What government proceeding was he obstructing? The ‘important’ politicians had all been cleared out of Dodge by the time the protesters showed up inside. And why weren’t the numbskulls that were shouting during the SCOTUS nomination hearings a few years back tossed in the slammer for ‘obstructing a proceeding’?

Not only that, but the woman (professor?) who threw a Molotov Cocktail in into a Portland police SUV with 5 officers inside was convicted. Her sentence was 33 HOURS of COMMUNITY SERVICE.

This should tell EVERY American citizen that our politicians actually believe that they RULE over us and that we are subservient to them.

“DC JURY”

Defendants in criminal courts should be able to select the jurisdiction where their trial is held.

Criminal trespass on government property. Nobody has the right to enter those offices uninvited. There is a lot of misery caused by stupid people.

I see, those offices are sacred like our votes, sovereignty, our borders, etc. Right?

Those same exact people who are outraged about 1/6 have no problem ignoring and even aiding and abetting millions of people to trespass, enter our country illegally, uninvited, as they choke off our schools, jails, social services, hospitals, you name it. No?

There is a lot of misery caused by stupid people.

Going back decades, who's caused the most misery Gingis? The corrupt insider politicians in D.C., or those who entered the Capitol?
