SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A judge issued a temporary restraining order Friday blocking the new Illinois law banning assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines.
Effingham County Judge Joshua Morrison issued the order after former Republican candidate for attorney general Tom DeVore sued to block the law. DeVore said he’s representing hundreds of people from dozens of counties who argue the law violates their constitutional rights.
Morrison’s ruling only applies to 850 plaintiffs listed in the lawsuit in Effingham County and four licensed gun dealers.

The state is doing nothing to to ban these real assault weapons, preferring to deal with the magic guns who cross state lines into Illinois by themselves, and pull their own triggers.
Agree wholeheartedly! I would like to see him in shackles, but I doubt they make them big enough!

Translation: I know they’re going to win on the merits, but f*** them all.
The stated objective of any - repeat: Any “gun control” legislation is to make it more difficult or preferably impossible for someone to obtain firearms.
Which in and of itself is “infringement”

Why are some citizens more equal than all the others?
There are 102 counties in Illinois. 100 of them vote republican.

How can the stay only apply to a percentage when it’s a Constitutional issue?
Counties don’t vote. People do. And unfortunately the bulk of the population (living, dead, and imaginary) are in the Democrat controlled sh!tholes and vote Democrat
The TRO's are being written up and are expected to be filed this week, and those will be statewide.
That's what I've been reading from several of those involved who've been working with other groups within the state. One of those most familiar with the issues here in Hellinois is a member of the Aurora Sportsmans Club, of which I'm a member. His name is Todd Vandermyde. Follow him on YouTube. He was also with the NRA for many years as a gun law expert.
My membership is up in March and will be renewing. Again.
