The isolated nation finds itself grappling with a severe need for humanitarian aid as the need to feed citizens only increases.
North Korea has found itself dealing with its worst famine since 1990, as the troubled nation grapples with one of its worst humanitarian issues in history. Scarcity of food and availability of product has decreased significantly since the nation isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nation has failed to meet the bare minimum for providing food, the World Food Program reported. Kim's regime is more focused on the North Korean nuclear program instead of feeding its citizens - with diplomatic relations keeping other nations from stepping in and providing necessary aid.

The nation primarily consumes grains produced within the country, but they are largely dependent on imported goods. The nation’s image on the global scale has made accessing these products increasingly more difficult.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the nation went into intense self-isolation including restricted movement within the country. This only made accessing food increasingly more difficult. After armed troops closed borders and stopped trade from January 2020, the economy was only further disrupted, the World Food Program reported.
According to 38 North, the nation is not only lacking in food resources, but “the regime apparently failed to secure enough paper and ink from China to print its own money; since the fall of 2021, it has been forced to issue nearly worthless scrip, or money coupons, introducing confusion and distorting currency markets.”

They can trade Soviet type ammo for food.
They seem to have lots of ammo.
This is what happens when the population is disarmed.

This creates a good opportunity for the Mexican Cartels. They could take over NK. They would have the printing presses for making fake dollars and have nukes too.
Communism and famine go together like peas and carrots.
Kim does not care about his people.
There is always enough food to feed him and his buddies!
Only in free countries rulers care about the people!
Coming to a country near you. The worldwide fertilizer bans will make all countries equal....to north korea. This message is approved by the wef. “You will own nothing and be happy...while you starve to death”. These folks actually believe that in the future they will be thanked. Too bad there isn’t a word to accurately describe these people.
I will never forget the man raised in NK, who I heard on Dennis Prager’s program. Evil, like concentration camps in Nazi Germany. I think that entire country is a Prison camp. That most of the world knows this is sickening.
Most Americans couldn't find Korea on a map, and you'd better believe the news media and academia are busy hiding the failures of Communism from the public.

The thing is, everyone hopes that the status quo in North Korea can hold, because if things break down there, you will see the “Mother of all Refugee Crises” as millions will stream into South Korea and China, and nobody wants that.
North Korea has 25 million people with an average annual per capita income of $640 or $1.75 per day. After accounting for the ruling elite and the military, 90% of North Koreans exist on less than $1.40 per day.
Although the highest elevation in North Korea is only 9,003 feet, 80% of the country consists of mountains and uplands. Except for the western coastal plain, there are few natural lines of communication. There are only 450 miles of paved roads, poorly maintained. 3200 miles of railways transport 86% of freight. Less than 2% of freight is moved via water.
North Korea’s power grid is obsolete and failing. 70% of energy production is from coal.
The Korean Demilitarized Zone remains one of the most heavily fortified borders in the world. During the winter months, the weather along the Yalu River, which is the northern border of North Korea, experiences subzero Fahrenheit daily mean and daily low temperatures.
When (not if) the government of North Korea collapses, it is likely to occur during the winter, and it will result in one of the largest humanitarian disasters the world has ever seen. Due to hunger, disease, lack of winter survival clothing, and transportation infrastructure, most of the population will be faced with dying in place.
There have been no lack of simulations, war games, exercises, and table tops to plan for this. Most have come to the conclusion that even given a large multi-national coalition response, there are insufficient logistics and transportation resources in the rest of the world to provide a timely and effective response.
And people think Pyongyang is like the rest of the country. Pyongyang is pretty much the “Show City”, where you have to be in with the right people to even live there. The rest of the country is backwards as can be.

Some elected officials are not as elected as the voters think they are. They’re easy to spot, though. Those are the rulers.
Yes, and you can recognize them easily! They do not care about the people, they just care about power and their pockets! Unfortunately, we got quite a lot here lately!
