The Army sold Army surplus weapons to US citizens for 170 years with no problems. Now selling non army grade weapons is a problem?

Absolutely right. ArmaLite and the majority stock holder in those days was Lyndon Johnson or his wife. One or the other if I remember correctly. That is one reason the Army got the contract for the M-16. The M-14 was a superior rife in my opinion.

Germans first two letters are used like he said. For example the MG-34 is Machine Gun 1934 model. MP-43 is Machine Pistol model 1943.

The sad thing is there was no one on the 5 who was able to refute his claim. They all need to be educated about what is an “assault” rifle, an automatic rifle, and a semi-automatic rifle. Sad.

I chose to go the route of the mini 14 because I like wood stocked rifles. Fun to shoot and very little recoil.
They ignore the 9MM handgun, the favorite weapon of gangbangers and criminals. More people are killed with a 9MM than an AR of any type.
Most people purchase an AR to protect themselves from people with 9mm’s.
