“My guess is that Sasse is sufficiently woke or else UF would’ve never hired him.”

ROTFLMAO!

“All I can say is that while I do not agree with Sasse on a lot of things, he isn’t woke.”

What do you disagree with excluding his anti-Trump position?

If Sasse is truly hard right, he will have a hard time making it in Gainesville. While there are some there who are conservative, like those in my family, the liberals run the place. I do not know Mr. Sasse at all other than what I observed while he was in Congress, but if he voted for Trump’s impeachment, then he isn’t as conservative as you seem to think. Or is he just a dunderhead who believes what the left tells him that they pinky swear is the truth?

Next to Sasse, Trump is a flaming liberal.

That may be, but why did he vote to impeach him?

So Sasse believes that Trump was a bad guy. That makes him a Never Trumper to me. Which is why I say he is sufficiently woke to be a part of UF.

Sasse, who was one of seven Republicans to vote to convict former President Trump in his second impeachment trial, left the Senate two years into his second term. He is reportedly set to make an annual salary of $1 million as UF's president.

Wow, he took a paycut. The rest of the Senators will laugh at him when they drive up to visit his new home in their Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

You have no idea of Florida politics. What is your view on DeSantis?

Sasse is HARD RIGHT!

Then, why the RINO label by so many FR members?

Anyhow, what I posted about RINOs vs democrats, still stands.

*** You have no idea of Florida politics.***

LOL, I grew up in Gainesville. Almost all of my family still lives there, with two siblings still in Gatortown. Why don’t you check out how Alachua county votes. It’s pretty liberal there. Always has been, and I’ll be surprised if that ever changes.

So??

FYI, here’s Alachua county results for governor.
https://www.politico.com/2022-election/results/florida/statewide-offices/

And here’s the local races.
https://www.news4jax.com/voters-guide/2022/10/31/alachua-county-results-amendments-referendums-commission-seats-2022-general-election/

When I was growing up, I had to register as a Democrat if I wanted to vote in the primaries. There were no Republicans available to run. Not even for Sheriff.

But yeah, try to tell me how conservative UF is.
