Idaho murders: Sources tell Judge Jeanine Pirro 'genealogical DNA' helped nab suspect
FOX ^ | December 31, 2022 | Charles Creitz

Fox News co-host Judge Jeanine Pirro joins 'The Five' panelists to react to police arresting a suspect in the slayings of University of Idaho students.

The suspect arrested in connection to the murders of four Idaho college students was nabbed at least in part thanks to "genealogical DNA" evidence, sources told Fox News' Judge Jeanine Pirro.

"[M]y sources are telling me that there is genealogical DNA that was established in this case that led the police to this particular suspect," Pirro said on "The Five" Friday.

...

Pirro, who formerly served as a Republican district attorney in Westchester County, N.Y., said if Kohberger does not have a criminal record, he would not likely have gotten any hits in law enforcement's CODIS database, which would lead authorities to instead analyze blood from the crime scene for genealogy-related leads.

"And so, they find out who were the relatives. Once they figure out who the suspect is, they then start to continue to investigate, spread out from Idaho to the car to Pennsylvania. And they populate with historical data," she said.

"So CODIS can give us that 30% solving of cases. But this genealogical DNA can give us a 90% chance of solving these cases. So in addition to what will be unequivocal evidence, they're going to have all kinds of circumstantial evidence in addition to that evidence, which we will see when the affidavit is unsealed."

As comedian Bill Burr said, "why would you send your saliva into the Internet? Why don't you just go to the Illuminati and help them build your robot replacement?"

If they can catch a bad guy with these databases, they can frame an innocent guy, too.

The database should get EMP’d.

I’m sure there’s probably redundant servers, and cloud computing involved.

Before I go off the deep end here and scream SITYS at the top of my lungs at relatives...

Is this a direct result of people doing things like 23 and Me and now the government has familial DNA due to “genealogy” searches?

He may not have ever sent anything in. It isn't necessary for the suspect to ever have sent in their own DNA. A relative will do. Once they get a partial DNA match, it's just a matter of building out that family tree, and then using other clues to zero in on the suspect, whether they put their DNA in the system or not.

Like it or not, you are already in the system, whether or not YOU ever sent in YOUR DNA.

He’s probably the best comedian alive. He may poke our side, and at times he’s unlistenable... but he comes out swinging against cancel culture etc. And it’s all hilarious.

“why would you send your saliva into the Internet? Why don’t you just go to the Illuminati and help them build your robot replacement?”

Most likely it was a relative of his that sent in a sample. From the relative they get a group of people and then start using investigation techniques*, legal or not.

*includes cell phone pings, car pings (if late model), license plate camera databases, credit card history, etc.

Far too many people are blabbing. The risk of the case getting ruined grows with each blab.

Maybe that was the culprit’s intent given what he was studying.

“You got it!”

Yep, and no doubt he thought he pulled off the ‘perfect crime’. Must have been a bit of a surprise when ‘they’ showed up at his door.

30 years or so ago, he likely would have pulled it off.

Your cell phone and your smart TV listen to you all the time.

Here’s a fun experiment for you if you have Facebook or You Tube:

Start talking about a trip to someplace you’ve never thought about visiting, like Chile or Angola, and then see how long it takes to see ads for those places on your feeds.

It’s scary when you see it happen.
