No, the ethic has been that you battle it out in the primaries, or in an intra-party caucus. Whoever wins that, conservative, moderate, etc., gets the support.

Trump got around 45% of the primary vote in 2016, but more than 90% of Republicans voted for him in the general election. Why? Because we all realize that the Republican, even if not our preferred candidate, is still going to be better than the Democrat.

But now, it appears the reverse is happening. McCarthy was the overwhelming winner of the caucus vote - it wasn't even close. But, the members of the caucus who lost that vote are now taking the Bush/Cheney approach from 2016 and 2020, and trying to sabotage the party's chosen representative.

I didn't like it when they did it, and I don't like it now.

there is NO ethic when it comes to the deep state
