This all performative politics. Does anyone really think much of anything will change in the next Congress..?? And Trump has little to no influence on Congress...despite his blustering about it. I have have as much influence on Congress as Trump does.
I will bet good money that the next Congress gets very little done. They may try to waste our tax dollars on useless investigations that don’t accomplish much...except give the politicians sound bites to use on their next fund raising appeal.
When asking my Congressional critters what they are doing to make this country better the standard boiler plate form letter always has the phrase “I’m fighting for the American people” in it somewhere. What a trite phrase and signify s nothing. I might try that with my boss when he asks what I’m doing in my job...”I’m fighting to insure the widgets get out the door”...we’ll see how that goes over...:)
Spend more time infighting than fighting rats. The rats take and encourage that route every time, and the R's fall for it.

That is exactly what the rats have done every time they have the hammer.
If R's don't bring a gun to a knife fight, they will get cut up and mugged, again.
Congratulations, Speaker Jeffries.
I love Trump and what he has done. However, his judgement on whom to support has often not been good. Also, his cabinet members and VP, have often not been loyal.
Hakeem Jeffries starts with 213 votes, 218 to win.
What is more probable? That there are 5 GOP members who can be shamed, bribed, or intimidated into voting for Jeffries, or that the 188 Republicans who voted for McCarthy will vote for MAGA?
Be serious.
Look, I favor the destruction of the GOP by any (legal) means necessary, so Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker would help my dream come true.
But since destruction and replacement of the GOP is probably going to take a while, I think the country would be better off with Kevin McCarthy than with Hakeem Jeffries.
One of those two are going to be the next Speaker.
All the Freedom Caucus is capable of doing is handing the speaker job to a Dim. That to me seems what they really want to do, becuase they are not going to get a GOP majority to vote for one of them. They are acting like a suicide pact.
Harmeet Dhillon is in the running.
She would do a great job imo.
My 1st choice has been Rep Jorden but he has declared for McCarthy.
Why are so many good Patriotic GOP members in favor of “the next in line” syndrome?
If they defeat McCarthy on thr floor, isn’t it possible for all dems and some GOPers to vote for Pelosi giving her enough to get elected back in?
I’m not sure how it works, just that to be elected someone has to get 218 votes?
RINOs are just stupid enough to do this.
