You are correct in this assessment and most likely will get flamed for it. Putin is a reactionary that leads a coalition of parties that have kept the communists out of power for now over 30 years. He supports the Orthodox church and is behind the cultural revivals in Russia of Russian literature and music. Almost no one, even so-called ‘experts’ have any clue of the realities of modern Russia. They spout nonsense that is intended to get themselves noticed but the realities of Russia and Putin are clouded behind a screen of political posturing.

This is not an endorsement of Putin or his governance style, I’m just sick of such gross ignorance on display and people being led to holocaustal conclusions on flimsy opinions.
