LOL, my son is a software engineer - he tells me Windows XP was one of the most stable platforms ever (at least I think it was that platform, they all look alike to me).

Sigh. I paid for the college education - and now I get flak for not knowing (what he says) are the most basic of computer functions.

He did recommend Brave for me b/c of the ad blocker and says the security is very good on that platform.

Best of luck! AS long as I can get to Freep and my family, it’s all good.

Any of the new fangled browsers, all expect massive increases in memory in your box.

Even Firefox latest cant do anything for this machine. Sticking with 3.5 is version on F/F may not open all webpages, but on FR it great. The pages that won’t load are usually coded with all sorts of script for advertisements. If they don’t load, the BACK button is my friend !

The latest Brave is likely to be a memory hog.

With my other newer linux machine with 16 gig. I have Chromium with an ad blocker. Version 105.0.5195.102 (Official Build) snap (64-bit) There are websites now that refuse you access if you don’t disable your ad blocker. Good riddance.
