EU Threatens to Sanction Musk’s Twitter over Temporary Suspension of Establishment Media Journalists

The European Union has threatened to levy sanctions against Twitter following the suspension of several establishment media journalists over allegedly sharing private location of Elon Musk’s jet.

On Thursday evening, Twitter suspended journalists from CNN, Mashable, New York Times, Washington Post, Vox, and former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann for alleged violations of the platform’s updated terms of service on doxxing, or the exposing of private details such as location or address on the internet.

“Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation,” Musk tweeted Wednesday. “This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info. Posting locations someone traveled to on a slightly delayed basis isn’t a safety problem, so is ok.”

The suspensions reportedly surrounded the linking to a tracker of Musk’s private jet. While many have claimed that this was publicly available information, the new Twitter boss said that “my plane is actually not trackable without using non-public data”.

Don;t these “journalists” have their own platforms?

Isn’t that part of being a “journalist”?

What was the equivalent of ‘twitter’ for journalists, before twitter?

I suppose that one of the freedoms guaranteed by our constitution and that of the EU, is the doxxing of Elon and anyone they wish to harass and place in danger.

Someone needs to start a Twitter feed to doxx all the EU leaders and those in the media who feel that doxxing is a right of the press.

F*** the EU. Where were they when pre-Elon Twitter was busy banning conservative voices and the POTUS?

agree... Musk’s stance on free speech is a threat to these entities. They are therefore looking for excuses to shut twitter down.

Musk needs to just close whatever offices exist in foreign nations. They can’t really do much to him if he has no presence there.

Of course, the reality is, they will also start hitting tesla and spacex and whatever other ventures he has going to pursue their agenda of control.

It would be awesome to watch the EU do this. It would send some of its “citizens/serfs” into an all-out tizzy. Be fun to watch.

EU has only one tool, they can try to ban it there. But they cannot enforce rules against an American company not doing business there. And they were silent when Project Veritas was banned. Go kick rocks... Ignore them Elon.

“I suppose that one of the freedoms guaranteed by our constitution and that of the EU, is the doxxing of Elon”

No, the Constitution does not say Elon must provide the platform for them to do so. You can try it in your own platform until it rises to the level of a terroristic threat.

Rules are rules, doxxing should be stopped. End of day, it is a privately owned website and if he ops to ban or unban people, that is his choice. His only consequences should be whether others choose to stay, participate, or go.
