I forget what happened in the 1st place. The Gibsons refused to make a penis cake or something?

Oberlin destroyed its reputation in the process.

I did not read the complete article, given how Oberlin College delayed and fought paying the settlement, I wonder if the Bakery was entitled to interest on the unpaid settlement.

Over a period of a couple of years a 30+ million-dollar settlement could rack up a ton of interest.

They have been this way for a long time. In 1965 I looked at them and toured the campus. Never bothered to apply.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Sue them again, harder and faster.

If you’d like to order some Christmas goodies from the Gibson bakery, you can do it here:

Finally, The Gibson’s Bakery Family Has Been Paid By Oberlin College The Gibsons have collected the over $36 million owed them. Sadly, David Gibson and “Grandpa” Allyn Gibson did not live to see this day. By stretching out the appeals Oberlin College waited them out, but the rest of the family survives. We wish the Gibson family well.

The thugs from the school were stealing from this family’s store, got caught, and cried raciss! The president slandered the store instead of the thug students!

IIRC it was a gay themed wedding cake.

You are correct.

A black stole a bottle of wine and the bakery had the audacity to attempt to stop the black thief.

My post was incorrect.

Oberlin college has an endowment of more than $1 billion so the settlement is much less than they would be paying in taxes on the endowment. (If they paid taxes on the endowment, which they don't.)

Oberlin College still appears not to understand or accept what it did wrong. It considers itself the victim.

Typical elite “thinking”. They are the elite. They cannot be wrong, even as their proclamations invert on any given subject (e.g., masks, no masks, masks). Apology would be an admission of fallibility, and these people think they are gods and not to be questioned.

Try to force a gay bakery to bake a Nazi themed cake...
Never mind..they would probably be glad to do it.

Interest accrued at over $4,000 per day.

Heh, heh.

Nope.

A couple black students shoplifted, got caught, pleaded guilty at trial.

Oberlin administration encouraged violence, boycotting of the bakery, and tagged the bakery (of course) as racist.
