House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters informed a group of Democrats that she doesn’t plan to subpoena former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Waters’ message to her members came at a private Tuesday meeting on Capitol Hill, with part of the discussion focused on Bankman-Fried’s possible testimony at the committee’s Dec. 13 hearing. Bankman-Fried has yet to agree to voluntarily testify to the House committee.
So how much was she paid?
Guess what. The Republicans won’t subpoena him either.

Well, it does seem odd she doesn’t plan to subpoena the founder, CEO and President of FTX for the hearing regarding the collapse of FTX.
Of course, he would plead the 5th anyway.
Nevertheless, the kid glove treatment he is getting is obscene. Not just that he gave tens of millions to grease politicians, a lot of the big money came from people who are also very well connected. The little people who got screwed by this scam - well, Congress never cared about them anyway.
I would not be surprised in the least to learn that FTX was set up to be a scam by and for the well connected to launder money and peddle influence; or by the intel community and large banking concerns for basically the same purposes (or to destroy confidence in cryptos and blockchain).
Just one big happy family of D.C. corruption.

Can’t say I disagree with her (which shocks me). Not really enough time to hold hearings on FTX collapse.
