Meanwhile, Sens. Michael F. Bennet (D-Colo.) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) are negotiating on a narrower bill based on a House-passed measure that provided a pathway to citizenship for some undocumented farmworkers.

Crapo indeed.

no one who enters this country illegally should ever be given a pathway to citizenship!!!!

Permanent Residency (Green Card) leads to citizenship.

However, I have no problem going back to the old “bracero” program whereby farmer associations could hire temporary workers (not families) in Mexico and return them to Mexico after the harvest. But to hire them from the current illegal population would provide even more incentives for illegal entry.

Please no one suggest farm workers can come from the present unemployment roles. You would never get the food to the table.

Braceros in the old days were given specific work permits. Citizenship was never considered. Why the change? Cui bono?

I wonder how many demonrats lie about their party affiliation to get elected in red states, and get away with it because people don’t pay attention to what they actually do

Why the change?

Run a search on a 1958 CBS documentary titled "Harvest of Shame," and you'll see why Kennedy killed the Bracero program in 1963.

No! Deport them all. Traitors to give invaders amnesty and citizenship. Did I miss the government surrendering to the invaders?
