Whoa. Just recently I posted in favor of their Labor position to, along with abolishing the House of Lords, devolve more government to local regions.
Perhaps their position (and they are likely to soon be back in power) is in part to advance UN/WEF crap like this?
Oxford is also a walk- and bike-able town and gown area hub.
Will a next step be to require that people have their mobile digital “papers” on them at all times, while that same phone tracks and enforces people not venturing more than a mile or two from their home prison?
The proposal doesn’t sound like it is so citizen friendly and free. It states that you have to ask permission to go beyond your “zone”? And there is a committee that regulates this. Have you ever seen the movie “Mockingjay: The Hunger Games”? This city hasn’t gone all in yet but personally...how far will these “policies” go if the citizens go along with it now and those in charge think they need to tighten it further. I don’t know...maybe I am thinking too much but I wouldn’t want to do what they are doing. Using their term “Climate Lockdown” sure doesn’t help! When they say lockdown, what does that bring to mind??
WHAT?????
In other words, this is nothing more exreme than the various inner-city congestion/air pollution schemes already being introduced across Europe, and already in place in eg London. There are many sensible arguments against them, but the hyperdramatised 'lockdown' characterisation in the article (and consequent posts) is nonsense.
