Upton was one of the ten rinos that voted to impeach Trump. Also instrumental for banning the incandescent light bulbs and replacing them with Chinese manufactured mercury bulbs.

Twitter being a biased narrow-minded creepy company wasn't the problem. McCarthy needs to know that.

The problem was progressives in Government strong armed a private company to do their bidding 'or else'. That's criminal.

Jim Rob has the right to define FreeRepublic too. That's our system. It's becomes criminal when Government thugs step in to push 'influence and direction' "or else". That's what McCarthy needs to understand.

We don't need Government to set standards for free companies - even Twitter - we need Government to stay the hell out - - and to stop acting like Mob bosses.

With the new Twitter - Musk is being strong armed by Biden's goons. THAT'S THE CRIME. He's being told if he does his company his way he'll be investigated, regulated and possibly put out of business.

If McCarthy doesn't understand it's the government that overstepped their boundaries then he's not fit for the job.

The government has no business interfering with private companies - newspapers, twitter, CNN, MSNBC with thuggy 'carrots and sticks. The same applies double for 'intelligence thugs' - they have no business interfering in American companies. It's unconstitutional... and illegal.

I totally agree.

I do worry that the Bad Guys have once again found a legal loophole of sorts. Joe wasn’t “the government”, Joe was simply “a candidate”. And the DNC isn’t “the government” it’s merely a “political party”.

Therefore (some might say) the government isn’t strong-arminng a private company. It’s just private people doing private things. Of course, anyone can see this is the Oligarchy suppressing their political opposition. This is what the First Amendment is supposed to be about.

But in today’s world, it can be shrugged off.

So what???!!

People here say Twitter was suppressing things for the government so it's a 1st Amendment violation.

I'm just pointing out that it was a Republican government at the time.

And that’s it? McCarthy is a wimp and a farce! What about the FBI? What about all those security experts who claimed it was Russia? They are all traitors!! McCarthy is clearly not the right choice for speaker

Twitter was working directly from the Biden/obama administration requests to censor news, blocking anything anyone wrote that the socialists did not want you to see. You can bet all the other news and social media companies are too.

I checked the following and nothing on the main pages about this. Huge scandal but just nothing.
Minneapolis Star & Tribune, St Paul Pioneer Press, Los Angeles DailyNews, ABC News, CBS News, USAToday, CNN...........

Elon Musk
Twitter acting by itself to suppress free speech is not a 1st amendment violation, but acting under orders from the government to suppress free speech, with no judicial review, is

Buck Sexton
So we have proof: Biden’s team engaged in *bright red line* violations of free speech principles to suppress disfavored speech- especially as it related to their election prospects

This is a massive scandal, and Biden should rightly be IMPEACHED for it

The Biden administration didn't exist yet when this happened.

If Sexton thinks that he's an idiot.

The Biden campaign team was a private organization and not part of the government. There's no 1st Amendment issue.

That won’t change, no matter who the Republican President is.

Well, that is, unless President Trump reverses the JFK EO that established the government workers unions, and then has the bureaucRATs tried for treason and hanged.

That might pour some cold water on their cheating and arrogance.

Permanent democrat bureaucracies have to be ended.

If their protection is from an executive order, a lot of Republican politicians since *Nixon have some explaining to do.

*Some of those Republican politicians are dead, which isn’t my point.

*********

Too bad the Republicans don’t fight left-wing nutjobs & democrat bureaucracies as hard as they fight Trump.

If they did, we might start making some progress at restoring the Republic.

Just look at this forum today 90% of it is about everything except the Twitter dump and whatever people wanna say about the Twitter dump isn’t good enough yet it’s still monumental I mean very monumental and yet people who don’t care they would rather argue about the Ukraine or some other bullshit meanwhile our nation and western civilization continue to circle the toilet bowl
