This is a lot of demoralization on FR over the demoralized Western World.
Flights going into China start at $3-4k from the US. Imagine what that is doing to the people that depend on tourism. You can find flights for less than $1k for most other Asian countries right now. A buddy of mine was planning a big trip to Asia over two weeks. Hes thinking of cancelling China and spending more time in the other countries.

Just listened to report that an apartment that the people were locked in due to Covid restrictions burned and a dozen or so people were killed . This is what sparked the backlash.

Xi wants to stay as a perpetual dictator. He’s not going anywhere if the decision is his own.
