I bet the store isn’t any better than Dr. Mike’s, Shady Glen or the UConn Dairy Bar. Those stores are great places for ice cream.

“safest in town” is a pretty low standard......

I was thinking exactly the same thin. How foolish is it to think that threatening to leave is going to get the city to do anything of consequence? I think these people are still delusional in spite of everything that’s been done to their businesses

This owner and her company are NOT welcome in Florida if they intend to bring their corrupt democrat ideas with them.
Don’t even think about it.

Salt & Straw was created to be a community gathering place, according to its website.
well, the community gathered; they are successful.

It is possible government officials will pull police from other parts of the city and swarm the area around the ice cream shop - oil on the squeaky wheel sort of thing. That could help her at the expense of others.
If that fails, she can pack up and leave with a clear conscience: “I told them I was gonna leave.”

There is a fallacy in your premise.
There are no police. There are merely salaried people in uniform

And in Portland, the Police Commissioner is also the mayor, Ted Wheeler. All the good, honest ones are gone, and the PPB is 300 short of staffed. All that remains are the halt, lazy and lame.
There has been a half-assed attempt to hire replacements, as it has dimly dawned that it is a political mistake to defund, but the goofs they are getting are the kids who liked to burn small animals.

Obviously this company needs to relocate to somewhere cleaner and safer, like, say, Seattle or Chicago.
