After two years during which he could have acted, Garland chose to appoint a special counsel only after the investigation was being turned over to Republican hands. The move screams of obstruction of Congress and a nonpolitical government agency’s interference in the political process.
Nancy Pelosi broke every precedent of the House by refusing to allow Republican leaders to appoint January 6th Committee members. Now we have a sweeping special counsel mandate to investigate anyone from the date of the 2020 election through January 6 who purportedly interfered with the “transfer of power” — including thousands of Capitol Hill staffers, Trump lawyers, Republican political operatives, and even 100 or so members of congress who wanted to delay certification of the election to allow legal challenges or to challenge electoral college delegates. By not resolving timely legal challenges to the 2020 election, Chief Justice John Roberts may have invited a far more serious constitutional challenge to the balance of power between the branches of government.
Zero out the DOJ budget.

Garland: Hey, you say that like it’s a bad thing.
Der kleine Führer has been down at the Hofbrau Haus again raising hell.
Does anyone really believe Kevin McCarthy wants the answers to these questions? He is no different than Paul Ryan. He will throw us crumbs like banning Omar and Schiff from certain committees, but there is no way he wants to do anything to help or defend the MAGA movement, which is always a grave threat to the Uniparty Swamp.
His house should be raided and his wife’s panties sniffed by FBI agents
For obstruction of justice of course
bkmk
This is really good.
Garland is literally seizing Congressional power for himself: he has no right to simply grab the J6 Committee info. DoJ is a subordinate to that if even involved at all.
It’s an end run around the Constitution and he’s hoping the Republicans are so cowed they wont get that.
He might be right. But others see it.
Fedsurection.
Well, if that is not deep state abuse of secrecy powers, then what is?
GTFOH and investigate them all
Rinos like democrat puppet whores will feign they do not understand and to “let the investigation” do the investigation
He has proven to be a CRIMINAL!! And decent American citizens should be so P’sd off!!
If the Special Counsel isn’t funded he’s going nowhere.
“ needs to be thoroughly investigated and countered by the incoming GOP House of Representatives. They must study if this rogue Attorney General has committed impeachable offenses and, if so, act quickly to impeach him.”
Ok, the House impeaches Garland 219-216. What happens then, in your imagination?
Of course, there are between 20 and 40 Republicans who would never vote for this, but just say your scenario comes true.
What happens next?
Congress’s J6 committee is without ANY legitimate authority. Garland isn’t usurping anything, the “committee” is SENDING their stuff to DOJ, where it belongs to begin with.
What do you mean, DOJ is “under” the authority of Congress? No it’s not, it’s under the authority of the President. Congress is not a law enforcement body, it has no right to do what it’s been doing, and the good news is it’s going to stop because the GOP is so incompetent, not because of anything good about them.
I would make the case that the DOJ has been a rogue agency for decades — and should have been reigned in a long time ago.
A simple example of this is the mere existence of senior DOJ posts such as the Deputy Attorney General and Associate Attorney General (the top two succession posts to the AG). These positions were never established by Congress. They were just fabricated out of thin air through internal DOJ executive proceedings.
This is not how a legitimate government department is supposed to exist.
Maybe "it" is going to stop, but the same AHs will continue to work with the corrupt DOJ. Garland might hire the worst ones. Some of them will be unemployed in 2023. And they love to subpoena political opponents.
“His house should be raided and his wife’s panties sniffed by FBI agents”
If they did that they’d probably get crabs in their nose hairs.
