Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) dismissed Sen. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) Tuesday announcement that he would challenge McConnell for GOP Senate leader.

“I have the votes. I will be elected,” McConnell told reporters during a Tuesday press conference. “The only issue is whether we do it sooner or later.”

What he did in the last election is unforgivable.

“‘I Will Be Elected’”

Of course he will. It’s going to be the McConnell and McCarthy show (again) for the remainder of the Biden administration.

The Republican party is proving to be more feckless than the Whig party.

"Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) dismissed Sen. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) Tuesday announcement that he would challenge McConnell for GOP Senate leader."

No surprise there. It is too late to gain momentum for a successful challenge. To take him out one would have had to lock in support months ago.

This sort of thing seems to happen every election cycle with the same end result. Few people seem to want the job and/or don't think they can prevail.

Two possibilities. One is Scott really is that blind and naïve. The other is that this is kabuki theater to convince the MAGAites that there really is a group of Senators willing to buck the Deep State.

Turtle has his corrupt senators in his pocket all bought and paid for. I believe him. The Deep State / Uniparty is real, and it is completely corrupt and we all can name lots of “R” senators who either willing or unwilling have been bought and paid for by the DS/Uniparty. And it is easily more than 50%.

He owns more than enough Republican Senators to make it happen… And Trump helped him with one more in Alabama)

"The Republican party is proving to be more feckless than the Whig party."

A lame duck house, with an even more powerless minority senate.

The only definite is nothing will be accomplished.

McDonnell needs to be reprimanded by the Republican Party for his poor performance during the 2022 election cycle, in particular for his crusade against MAGA candidates. He did more damage as an individual than any other leader.
