White House is gaslighting Americans on "assault weapons"

On Monday, the White House released a statement about the shooting at the University of Virginia in which three members of the school’s football team were killed. The statement itself isn’t all that unusual, but what really stood out to me was the fact that Biden tried to tie this shooting to his repeated calls for a ban on semi-automatic rifles, with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declaring that “[w]e need to enact an assault weapons ban to get weapons of war off America’s streets. House Democrats acted, and the Senate should follow.”

At the time, police hadn’t said what kind of weapon the shooter used in the Sunday night attack, but there had been no indications that a rifle was involved. Based on the current charges the suspect is facing, however, it appears that he was in possession of a pistol, not a rifle, when the shots were fired.

22-year-old Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. is currently being held in the Henrico County Jail on three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of using a handgun in the commission of a felony.

Jones is a current UVA student and former UVA football player who grew up in the Richmond area. He was arrested about 12 hours after the shooting in eastern Henrico – not far from where he grew up.

At a press conference Monday, UVA Police Chief Timothy Longo revealed that someone had reported jones for allegedly making a comment about having a gun to the university’s threat assessment team, just two months ago.

Ultimately, no weapon was found.

It was then discovered that Jones had a prior criminal incident from February of 2021, over a concealed weapons violation.

The assault weapons ban that passed the House earlier this year was a 217-213 vote. The Democrats won't even have the House votes come January, and never did have the votes to abolish the filibuster and ramrod it through the Senate.

Joe Biden is just making promises he knows he can't keep. He won't do crap.

While they’re at it, why don’t they criminalize drugs to stop the fentanyl deaths? That’ll work too!

Any weapon or firearm that is used to inflict harm is a weapon of war both defensively and offensively no matter the surrounding be them on the streets of a city or in the theater of war. Give up your weapon and you give up yours and your family’s security to live another day.

The House won’t be voting on ending the filibuster. The Senate may, and they just might get it down this session. If they do, then a packed SCOTUS will be next and the America we have known and loved will be gone by 2024.

Any time the government hops on the gun ban bandwagon I make it a habit to view another holocaust or similar documentary.

That always reinforces my beliefs why an armed people will not go willingly into that dark night. The despots would soon run out of willing thugs.

If I hit you in the head with a brick, have I not just ‘assaulted’ you with a ‘weapon’?

Why would the Senate abolish the filibuster without a House majority too? That makes zero sense.

Plus Manchin/Sinema are still firmly against abolishing the filibuster, and the Democrats didn’t get a net gain of +2 this year to counter that.

It was an extremely short assault rifle.

All that is needed is to send a few of these thugs to Hell. The others will most likely rethink their positions.

Be advised that some of these Thugs will be wearing uniforms. Regardless, Hell is where they need sent!

This stupid bitch has no idea what ‘weapons of war’ constitute. Maybe she needs to enlist (or get drafted) and see for herself.

The “weapons of war” shibboleth is stupid. Every weapon is a “weapon of war”. Knives are “weapons of war”. Shotguns are “weapons of war”. Every modern bolt action deer rifle on earth is descended from the Mauser G98. That was most certainly a “weapon of war”.

= = =

Using a handgun to commit a felony is illegal because you should use an Assault Rifle, so they can be blamed.

Nothing new. The democrats have been demonizing various firearms in hopes of banning SOMETHING! Then they hope to build on that ban ways to ban other firearms.

Old memories from the past....and I have a LONG memory.

Starting in 1962 with the demand of Dems Thomas J. Dodd and Emanuel Celler...
1962 We ONLY want to register handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1964, We ONLY want to register ALL firearms, not ban them.
1968 We ONLY want to register all guns, and ban the import of foreign Saturday Night Specials, and 5-shot bolt action army surplus rifles! (they got the ban).
1970, We ONLY want to ban small American handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1976 We ONLY want to ban ALL handguns! Rifles will not be affected!
1981, Actress Lee Grant on Good Morning America screams and pokes holes in the air with her finger...”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”
1984, They came for the rifles.

So lets see... when they wanted to ban handguns they started by demonizing the low cost firearm as an “EVIL Saturday Night Special!”
Then they went after the “Evil 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles!”
Then they went after the “Evil American Made Handguns!”
Then after the “Evil A-s-s-sault Rifles!” something they said they would never do.
Gun owners know they are always up against a stacked deck.

***This stupid bitch has no idea what ‘weapons of war’ constitute. ****

Remember the 1960s when they wanted to ban 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles because they were “Weapons of War”?

They got the ban. BUT the very same rifle, off the same assembly line, with the same proof marks, could still be imported into the US if it was originally issued to a Police Force and not military.

That is the quality of stupidity in Congress for the last sixty years.

Plus, the second amendment specifically bars the federal government from infringing on our right to own weapons of war.

If we had term limits I think the quality of the candidates would go up to include patriots who want to SERVE instead of being served. If America lasts long enough to see it we may be in for another bloody civil war.
