Embattled Trump rips McConnell for GOP spending but doles out little of his own cash

Former President Donald Trump – who himself has come under fire for Republicans’ lackluster performance in the midterm elections – is blaming Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for the party’s apparent failure to flip the chamber’s majority in its favor.

“Mitch McConnell, the Republicans Broken Down Senate Leader, does nothing about this,” Trump on social media Friday night. “He’s too busy spending vast amounts of money on bad Senator Lisa [Murkowski] of Alaska when Kelly [Tshibaka] is FAR better.”

Yet Trump’s own spending choices in this year’s midterm elections have also drawn criticism.

Why would Trump spend any of his own money getting Republicans elected?

I’m drifting away from Trump. But I will defend him here. It’s not Trump’s job to dole out money to Republican candidates nationwide. It’s McConnell‘s job. This is McConnell‘s failure.

And if McConnell returns in a leadership position in January, then we’ll know the GOP has learned nothing from the last election. (And of course McConnell will return.)

The greatest, President Trump. Make America Great Again, again!

President Trump did more than just spend 16.4 million on candidates. He campaigned for them and did fundraisers for them which brought in millions also.

We had so much to run on this election, regarding the totalitarians during this pandemic, destroyed economy and retirement funds, WWIII proxy war, compromised and dysfunctional first family and a horrible VP, energy independence destroyed, vastly weak and woke military, corrupt DOJ, corrupt CIA, wide open borders, Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, CRT and Transgenderism forced in public schools and so much more.

What did the GOP run on? That’s a good question, eh! They didn’t. They threw this red wave under the bus and they colluded again with Democrats/RINOs to let them keep power.

Despite that, President Trump had a good election return on investment.

People trying to convince you otherwise are attempting to lie to you about who lost this election. It wasn’t President Trump, it was the GOP establishment in power doing every trick in the book to only elect more RINOs.

DeSantis is a RINO! Youngkin is trash!

Sadly, none of us will know that DeSantis is a RINO until it’s too late and Lucy moves the football, again. Same for Youngkin. And then we’ll all jump up and down and throw temper tantrums, get on FR and other sites to complain about the process, again.

If I had Pres Trump’s ear and he paid attention, I’d be the first to tell him to lay off that nonsense unless he had some proof. And even then, I’d say that he “could” put it out there but without the anger/ire in the tweets. A simple....I told ya so...would suffice.

Until then, pay attention to the matter at hand. If anything, he should be going full bore against Ducey and Brnovich. Something like...”Brnovich said the fraud in 2020 was ‘horsesh*t’, how about now. Where is the Governor and AG? Oh wait, they’ll both be unemployed in a couple of months, they don’t care about Arizona or the people. They’re still working for Arizona and what are they doing other than laughing at all of you, Kari Lake and Blake Masters.”

That would help out much more.

Don’t Trump’s campaign activities, namely the rallies, constitute in-kind contributions? Those rallies aren’t cheap to put on.

“Why would Trump spend any of his own money getting Republicans elected?”

The article referred to Trump’s war chest. This money is from campaign donations and not Trump’s own money.

I am really wondering if Trump is a ringer as the Dems have perfected the art of the steal when it comes to Elections, 2020 was the test 2022 shows they have perfected it. What the Dems have done is so demonize Trump and the GOP they have effectively created a one party system and of course they have people inside the GOP are very happy with one party rule.

Is this back and forth screaming at each other really productive?

Pubbies are well known for their circular firing squads. They seem to find it easier to fight each other than the opposition party.

It does get old and no, it is not productive. The Republican message [if they even had one this cycle] got lost in the muck and mire.

Actually there are growing demands for McConnell to step down.

IN anticipation of McConnell’s two faced performance in funding MAGA candidates, President Trump has been waiting to pounce and here it comes Mitch!

Trump gave out $16 million from the estimated $100 million he had in his PAC. He could have done more. It’s great he had rallies and filled stadiums, but that was preaching to the choir . It promoted Trumps brand but that was about it. Certain candidates , particularly Boldoc in NH , could have used some money from Trumps war chest to buy ads and reach a larger audience.
