Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW) in Washington told former President Donald Trump on Thursday that if he tries to return to the White House or runs for any other political office in 2024, the D.C.-based watchdog will, using the 14th Amendment's anti-insurrectionist clause, attempt to disqualify him for fomenting last year's deadly right-wing riot at the U.S. Capitol.
"By summoning a violent mob to disrupt the transition of presidential power... you made yourself ineligible to hold public office again."
“Should you seek or secure any future elected or appointed government office including the presidency of the United States," CREW president Noah Bookbinder wrote in a letter sent to Trump, "we will pursue your disqualification under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment based on your engaging in the insurrection that culminated on January 6, 2021."
As the letter explains, "Section 3 of the 14th Amendment provides that no individual who engages in insurrection or rebellion against the Constitution—after having previously taken an oath to support it—shall hold any federal or state office (unless Congress, by a vote of two-thirds in each house, removes such disability)."

Three will dissent saying that there does not need to be an actual insurrection, just the thought of insurrection, and that Trump should die for his thoughts. Oh, and his whole family, too. They wouldn’t do this unless they thought he could win.

Much as progressives claim to love democracy, the truth is they do not really want the people to have the right to choose their elected representatives. Trying to exclude candidates from the ballot is an undemocratic behavior.
How does this disqualification work?
Ban Trump from running? What if he still does?
Ban Trump from the ballot? What if people write his name in?
Ban the counting of his votes? What if the people don’t accept that?
Ban the certification/swearing in of Trump? What if the people don’t recognize the authority of the people doing that?
The 2024 election will be the Deep State vs the People. The elite will act openly, in an aristocratic manner, believing they have a veto on any election.

The bottom line for politics in modern America is this:
You never try and appease the woke. Ever. You don’t even try to try appeasing them.
Because — and this is an ironclad rule, as good as gold — the woke do not want to be appeased. The whole point of their politics is to be perpetually angry, disaffected, dissatisfied, furious, unrelenting, unforgiving. That’s just the way it is. Their entire mode of doing politics depends upon never ceasing their outraged, performative wokeness.
Dealing with the woke mob is therefore pretty simple: You pretty much ignore them. They don’t have anything of any substance to add to the discourse aside from furious, inchoate rage and pointless screaming.
Listen to more reasonable voices. Form your business decisions around them. Surround yourself with rational, thoughtful moderates and conservatives and liberals. Heck, you can throw in some very conservative and very liberal thinkers, too, so long as they’re not woke, which is another thing entirely.
Bottom line Again: “Just ignore the mob! Trying to appease them will only make things worse!

He can’t. He doesn’t own the country. He has to get Senate approval for all the important post. He has to get Congressional approval for his policies.
