Double whammy ahead? Lawmaker warns of impact from diesel shortage, rail strike after election

Wisconsin Rep. Bryan Steil says that the economy could take a dual hit after the election if diesel shortages persist and rail unions strike as promised.

In September, rail workers threatened to strike after the election if they could not agree to a new contract with railroad companies, which would result in substantial problems for the U.S. economy and its already challenged supply chain.

"It's incredibly concerning," Steil said Tuesday on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "We got to remember this is just weeks after President Biden told us that he had this all under control, and the trains would be running on time.

”We're now learning it's anything but that. It's another game where the Biden administration has kicked the can down the road and kicked it past this election."

Biden announced he had struck a tentative deal with the railroad unions that the workers cannot strike until after a so-called cooling-off period in late November, right after the midterm elections.

"I think people see through this case where it's very clear that the deal he struck was political in nature and will likely or possibly crumble following the election," Steil said. "But this is just one more thing that we all are concerned about. As it relates to the economy, pretty much every light on the switchboard is flashing. We got to be concerned. It's one of the reasons we need to put a check on this administration."

The priority of the Ukraine War supporters is to MINIMIZE the damage to the Democrats in the election next week, so as to extend the war as long as possible, and hopefully escalate it to a nuclear war.

After that...who cares.

Republicans can only curtail the economic downturn. I hope no one is lead to believe they can lower prices.
Cargill facilities along The Mississippi announced it will no longer take corn and soybeans. This means higher prices as farmers must transport grains longer distances. Wheat 8.6775BU DEC22

It will be a bleak winter for Biden. A disaster in the midterm elections, record high inflation, an energy policy certain to cause shortages of home heating oil and possibly natural gas, the possibility of widespread electric power blackouts and now empty store shelves. All of this is a result of the leftist policies Biden’s ruling cabal have given us

There is no real shortage of diesel in the US.

Through the third quarter, the USA exports 1.04 million b/d (barrels per day) of diesel.

This is intentional.

If people would just give a little thought to the dishonesty of the American Federal Government, basically the Biden family, they could figure out why there is a diesel shortage. And it’s being used along with the supply line disruption being accomplished by the long shoremen working for the democrats to make money for the Biden family and two other politicians sons. The feds are supporting the union with a ridiculous set of rules for their contracts in ports basically owned by the Chinese and a small amount of Russians.

If there is no diesel, then the step to electric trucks is going to be a major move. The firm owned by Hunter was Bohai Harvest RST (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Company who made one of its most successful investments in 2016, when it bought and later sold a stake in CATL, a fast-growing Chinese company that is now the world’s biggest maker of batteries for electric vehicles. Bohai still owns two stakes at 15% each. It’s easy to find. And they aren’t hiding it.

I’m all out of space! 😉

Will get everything for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, here in a few days, just to be safe.

Did that last year, when there was supposed to be a turkey shortage….which, there wasn’t, but…we used everything in the beginning of the year.

Don’t forget Rx meds, too, for those who require them.

There was a talk of a risk of a shortage of DEF used in diesel truck a few months back, but haven’t seen much on that topic. Not sure if the issue has resolved itself, or the media is just ignoring it? But I think there are several issues looming out there that are on life support till the elections, at which point they will start to build on each other. Lots of stuff commentary going on in the markets as well which is due for for a major correction in my opinion.

the doers (the commoners) should deprive those who caused this mess. Make them go hungry first and do without and see how long they will last.

you think your food is expensive now? This is going to cause a huge backlash on Jobama and his ilk. When people and their kids go humgry for political reasons, its going to get really ugly and I’d hate to be on the receiving end of there wrath of millions of hungry pissed off Americans.

If this shortage is actually coming, and indeed was seen coming a month ago (if not longer), a serious President would have signed an order under the National Defense Authorization Act to head this off before reaching a critical point. Instead this president has routinely stifled domestic energy production since his first day in office with no signs of reversing course - but has drained our emergency fuel stocks simply as a political gimmick.

There is zero - zero - reason why this should be happening.
