Trump to hold Florida rally for Marco Rubio, but snubs Ron DeSantis
Fox News ^ | 10/27/2022 | Anders Hagstrom

Former President Trump will attend a campaign event for Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and hugely popular Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has not been invited at the time of this report.

Trump announced the Nov. 6 rally on Wednesday, and the announcement made no mention of DeSantis. Aides to Trump reportedly said the governor would not be there, Politico reported Thursday. DeSantis is widely seen as Trump's most credible presidential challenger in a 2024 Republican primary should the pair both decide to run.

Representatives for DeSantis and Rubio did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

The incident comes just days after DeSantis refused to answer whether he plans to run for president in 2024. Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist pressed DeSantis on the issue during an election debate Monday night.

Maybe you’re well intended and just naive. But rest assured that when a pundit claims he wants Trump’s policies without Trump it’s because he knows that, without Trump, his policies will never be implemented.

I might be. And I'm fine with that. That's why I don't bet on horse races, ha.

Everything's great about Trump. Just not sure if he's the right candidate for this country in 2024. That's why I may be going with DeSantis.

But the truth is his personality is off-putting to college-educated suburban women, who can’t stand him.

” believe that there’s a group of women that would vote for DeSantis but if Trump is running, they’ll vote for Biden instead.”

Sure there are. And yet Trump won in 2016 and 2020, despite that. You’re recycling all the old arguments against Trump that we heard in 2016 that proved to be either incorrect or overblown. The demographic you speak of - women who would vote Biden over Trump - was not large enough to defeat Trump in 2020, and after 2 years of a Biden Presidency, it’s even smaller. Your analysis is only correct if you assume Biden actually won in 2020. Do you believe he did?

Just curious. Does anyone know if DeSantis endorsed Mastriano or did any robo-calls for him?

“So? If he doesn’t parrot Trump he’s a Trump enemy?”

He’s Trump’s rival, or at least that’s the way he apparently sees himself. It’s one thing to have honest differences of opinion with Trump. But that’s not what we’ve seen from DeSantis. All his challenges to Trump have been through endorsements and the like - all things that challenge Trump’s position of leadership in the party, not policy. DeSantis is not stupid enough to challenge Trump on policy. He campaigned as a MAGA candidate, so to do so would be counterproductive.

Look at just the two stories from the last 2 days - DeSantis supporting O’Dea, and DeSantis not attending a Rubio rally. What’s the common denominator in these two occurrences? In both instances, he’s going against Trump’s role as party leader. It’s not based on any principle or policy. O’Dea is a RINO who he’s chosen to openly support. Rubio’s a RINO who he’s choosing to not support through attending the rally.

” There is no “feud”, they are both operating from the same page. Ron DeSantis has every intention of finishing a second four-year term before handing the reins over to the next promising candidate”

Then why didn’t DeSantis say so the other night at the debate when Crist asked him, point blank, if he would give voters his assurance that he would complete a second term?

“Not a snub. This is a carefully managed cordial agreement to not be two Alpha males stepping all over each other’s territory.”

That’s just pure speculation on your part. Maybe it’s true, but I doubt it, and it’s a weak argument to make if you’re one who believes DeSantis has no intention to challenge Trump. Why would a Governor with no Presidential aspirations view, being seen with Trump as “two alpha males stepping all over each other? After all, other strong Governors and candidates for Governor have been happy to be seen with him. Kari Lake attended his recent Arizona rally and was glad to be seen with him. It would only be a problem for DeSantis to attend if DeSantis felt threatened by Trump’s presence.

Eh. That’s the way I see it too. But they put it out there because people will bite on it. Just how it is.

I would not be surprised if Ron showed up at Marco’s Rally and I am equally not surprised if the perfect gentleman, Ron DeSantis declines to appear because it would TAKE AWAY THE SPOTLIGHT FROM RUBIO.

And THAT’s what I think of President Trump, Marco Rubio and Ron DeSantis.

I love all of them!!!!!

I don’t care too much for O’Dea, but it would be tragic if he could have been the 51st vote and fell short.

This is two old hags talking over a fence.

It’s GOSSIP...TRASH...NOT WORTHY OF BEING POSTED ON FR.

I’m thinking DeSantis will show up just to make the idiots look more stupid than they are.
