Money, money, money......... why do you equate war and national security to war?
We are America! We are not a nation of neo-isolationists who hide under their rocks.
Americans are rightly reluctant as h*ll to get into wars, especially if we are not directly attacked.
By "we" is meant these days also our formal allies and our vital interests.
The Great Debate is whether Ukraine qualifies as part of "we", and people of good will can argue either case.
My argument is that madman Putin has shown himself to be Hitlerian in his aggressions toward neighboring countries, and the lessons of WWII apply just as well today as they did then -- if a madman is not stopped sooner, then he will come back again and again for ever bigger conquests.
As of today it appears that Ukraine needs only western weapons to defeat a poorly organized, lead, motivated and supplied Russian conscript army.
