Why I'm leaving the Democratic Party.
Substack ^ | 10/11/22 | Tulsi Gabbard

Posted on 10/13/2022 5:21:01 AM PDT by lizma2

I love our country. Our God-given rights of freedom, life, and liberty enshrined in our Constitution and Bill of Rights are my inspiration. I answered the call to duty and took an oath, dedicating my life to supporting and defending those freedoms, both in uniform and in public office.

She wants us to believe that she had multiple epiphanies all in unison. Sorry, not buying it. And if she did have them, why did it take this long? Is she not very bright? Do not trust her.

Yep... She is an ambulance chaser. The one with the brightest lights and loudest siren is the one she is going to chase. And right now the Conservatives appear to be winning.

Hopefully, she will continue to venture into the light of truth. Actually, she is like the old time Democrats that could disagree without threatening to kill anyone who disagreed.

You just described 99% of all politicians. They are actors. They act in the way they think will get them elected.

Let me know, Ms. Gabbard, when you leave Deep State.

Until then, talk is cheap.

“Nice, but you’re still an anti-gun, baby killer so.........meh.”

So was Trump many years ago. People can and do change. This might be her aha moment! Will wait and see.

Tulsi:

• supported Bernie Sanders for President. WTH??!
• opposes building a border wall
• opposes returning illegals to their countries
• pro abortion
• 100% voting record with Planned Parenthood
• pro universal healthcare
• and this…

Vote Smart Summary Tulsi responded to:

“Do you generally support gun-control legislation?” YES
“Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?” YES
“Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?” YES
“Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act (”Obamacare”)?” NO
“Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?” NO
“Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?” NO
Not cool.

For anyone referencing Ronaldus Maximus Reagan…

Reagan never supported the communist positions of Bernie Sanders.
Reagan was a leader, even when elected to head the SAG
Reagan was a conservative while a democrat
Reagan ran for President, was vetted, list, was on the radio every day for 4 years talking about his beliefs (you can read his radio spots in, Reagan in His Own Words), then ran again.

In contrast, Tulsi represented a liberal HI house district as a liberal.

The difference is night and day.

Yep, and it should be a prerequisite in our minds at all times before any other following debate. It self answers all the questions with simple logic in one word.

Why? Cause “politician”.

I can agree with that to a degree.

While I might not consider her a “Domestic Enemy of The Constitution” the way I view the vast majority of the Democrat Party and its voters, I do view her as the “one way ratchet” downward in the same way I view people like Romney, Collins, Murkowski, et al.

The damage those people named can inflict on this country is equally as bad, because people like them and Gabbard (I just mis-typed her name, and found it humorous, as “Gaggard”, there’s a Freudian Slip for you) inflict their insidious damage under the aegis of “bi-partisanship”.

I am not in any way looking for 100% agreement with my conservative principles. I think that is asinine to demand that.

But I have a far smaller number of critical core values which I am unwilling to compromise on, and I cannot do less than demand 100% agreement on those. Things like 1st Amendment rights, Rule of Law, Abortion, 2nd Amendment rights, etc.

I cannot compromise on those, because I view the alternatives as evil, and over time, have come to view compromising with evil as...evil.

It is the concept that a drop of sewage in a gallon of pure distilled water turns that into a gallon of sewage.

Everything, except technology, has gotten worse since Reagan left office.

* * *

Yes, and that “technology” is in many ways the instrument being used to enslave us and keep the plutocrats in everlasting power over us.

It sure is. Technology possess no morals, but the humans that use it are supposed to.
We see where that has gotten us...

We can hope, but we shouldn’t always make enemies out of people like her. We should withhold judgement and see what she does.

She forgot to add

“Except when it comes to abortion... I don’t believe that religious folks have a say in it. And when it comes to the I a.ienable right to self defense. I don’t beleive people have that right. A d when It comes to taxes, I beleive that the money folks make should go to those who don’t work. And except when it comes to lgbtq, i dont beleieve people should be allowed to,object to it, and i beleive it should be taight in schools deslite ehat parents wish... and when it comes too....”

When someone who is Leftist and a believer in the Left’s “soft on crime” approaches (with light sentences, early releases, no bail, no death penalty, that kind of thing) is the victim of violent crime and changes their stance to demand heavier sentences, mandatory bail, death sentences and such...I believe them.

I listen to them.

I fully believe they have changed their views.

The issue I have with Gabbard is that she has had no such cathartic event, and I have no reason to believe her words are any more than political triangulation to obtain relevance, office, or power.

It was only a short time ago that she voted “Present” on the articles of impeachment against Trump. I view that as the ultimate form of cowardice. I don’t elect my officials to allow them to vote “Present”. I despise it. I elect them to take responsibility to vote up or down on matters of import.

I want to spit on people who vote “Present” for political purposes. I am sick of it. As much as I despise the Leftists, I would view their honest rabidity in a more realistic light than a douchebag who votes “Present”.

I agree, but at least her type respect the democratic process, so it is a fair fight, and we have chances at pushing things back our way. The lack of nuttiness on social issues is a plus too.

Again, I'd never vote for her because she's far too left economically. But we can at least coexist with those folks.

There are two kinds of Democrats.

1) Those who are wrong about everything, but who fight fairly and honestly.
2) Those who are wrong about everything, but who lie, steal and murder to stay in power.

Tulsi Gabbard strikes me as the first type, which our Constitutional Republic was designed to tolerate and assimilate.

She’s leaving the Democrat party for the right reasons, and it’s a huge step in the right direction.

I agree. And historical track record is extremely important. She chased the left for support, then she chased the Libertarians for support, then she chased the left again, now she is trying to chase the independents.
