RNC Chair McDaniel: If You Use Gmail, Google Is Marking Emails From The Republican Party As "Spam"
Real Clear Politics ^ | October 5, 2022 | Posted By Tim Hains

RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told FBN's Maria Bartiromo on Wednesday morning that the Republican Party is "seriously looking at how we can sue Google" for suppressing their get-out-the-vote emails by labeling them as "spam."

MARIA BARTIROMO: You also say that Google is suppressing millions of election-related e-mails, just in the last month the [Republican National] Committee is accusing the company of marking 22 million e-mails as spam, including get-out-the-vote messages. You're exploring legal options. What are you going to do?

RONNA MCDANIEL: We spent the day on the phone with attorneys yesterday. We're very seriously looking at how we can sue Google. Google controls 53% of the e-mails in the United States. And they are suppressing right now Republican get-out-the-vote e-mails ahead of this election. We know this, for the past 10 months, the last four days of every month all of our e-mails go undeliverable. Zero percent deliverability.

This is outrageous, it is voter suppression by big tech and we have to hold them accountable. The RNC is looking to sue. We hope to have an announcement soon on that. This is another reason why we need Republicans to take back the House and Senate. We need to find a way to keep big tech's thumb off the scale in our elections and our democracy because they should not be able to suppress e-mails that we're sending to people who asked for us to send these e-mails. They have to opt-in. They have to opt-in.

So, Google is saying oh, it's a Republican e-mail, we're going to suppress it, put it in spam, or we're not going to deliver it.

BARTIROMO: What can you do about this?

MCDANIEL: We're trying to -- it's probably going to be through a state route. Every state has a different law.

A study released last April determined that this was happening back in 2020. The news is that the GOP is now thinking of suing. Not sure what took them this long. It's also kind of remarkable that no one caught on for so long.

Suing state by state as they are planning will not get the job done.

I'm trying to imagine what the Dems would do if a tech company was doing this to them. Democrat state AG's and Federal prosecutors would immediately look for a way to bring criminal charges against the CEO. Congressional Democrats would immediately draft a law that could result in CEO's being jailed. The FBI might show up at their homes at 6:00 AM executing questionable search warrants for something or other. They might get personally harassed. Personal information would start getting publicly released. Etc.

Ronna is useless, should have been fired in 2020.

Agreed. I’m not GOP, and never was and I would rather drink gas at the gas station and light myself on fire than votE Dummycrat.

You give directly to the candidate’s PAC. In Trump’s case, it’s MAGA Inc.

Yahoo has been doing this for over 15 years.
The GOP just figured this out?

That’s where it belongs.

I contribute directly to candidates I support.

If I were to contribute that money to an Assistant Democrat RINO PAC they would use it to sabotage my candidate.

Yes. They're still smarting from sending their banking PINs to the guy in Nigeria who asked for help by email. He seemed so genuine.

Because I look up political stuff all the time the Google bias is obvious to me. I often used the Russian search engine Yandex so I can compare one liar against another.

The RNC, PACs, and Trump’s gang need to stop texting and emailing five times per day - along with phoney messages akin to “My dad and I were just now talking about how cool Latin screen names and taglines are on Free Republic, and yours is the best! Please send $15 today!
- Love, Don Jr.”

Inauthenticity is a proggy leftist trademark... just like Freeper Latin screen names.

It is possible that this isn’t deliberate on their part. (Yes, yes, I know.) Technically if enough people reported a sender as spam they would be classified as a spammer on various antispam lists.

That said... if you’re using free mail services, guess what? The provider sets the rules and there’s f*** all you can do about it. “If you’re not paying for the product, *you* are the product!”

Hmm. My own study says they’re correct, it’s spam. Screw the rnc, they’ve not stood up for potus Trump and are the fundraising arm of the rhinos.

I made the mistake of giving the RNC my phone number.

Now I get spam texts from every candidate with an “R” next their name.

Between that and their being just another big-government crime family, I say eff-’em

I label any political fundraising emails as Spam - since I only donate to individual candidates and not the GOP or RNC that uses their names
