I don’t personally like to post images that way cause I feel as though the posting of such images taxes the server(s) resources. So I always link the image. *shrugs*

An image on imgur is not going to tax FR's server. Same with any other image posted here because they all reside on some other server. They get pulled in on the fly by your browser. If someone posts a bunch of big images(or urls to images) and the page is slow to load, that's your internet speed.

It causes your browser to pull the image from imgur’s server, not FR’s. Same as just posting the link.

Another thing about images is when people are posting an image that they know everyone has seen already, dozens or 100s of times, they could reduce them to a thumbnail or similar (or appropriate) size where we get the point “”Aliens did it””, “”Hillary memes”” but it is less intrusive (and annoying).

The “”That’s Racist”” meme, for example, is usually pretty small, but it could be even smaller and we would all still get it since we are so familiar with it.
