Even as more than 100,000 Americans are dying from drug overdoses and poisonings every year, many linked to fentanyl, House Democrats have blocked a plan that would crack down on the deadly substance flowing almost exclusively from the United States-Mexico border into American communities.
This week, 220 House Democrats blocked consideration for Rep. Michelle Fischbach’s (R-MN) Halt All Lethal Trafficking of Fentanyl Act to permanently classify fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.
Such a change would make it permanently illegal to sell fentanyl-related substances.
In April, House Democrats blocked consideration of similar legislation that would have cracked down on fentanyl-related substances. Consistent blockage of bills to combat fentanyl overdoses and poisonings comes as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials have warned parents to carry Naloxone in case their child is overdosing on fentanyl.
The warning is in response to concerns that the Mexican drug cartels, trafficking most of all of the China-manufactured fentanyl into the U.S., are targeting children by packaging tens of thousands of fentanyl pills in Skittles and Nerds candy bags along with vape pens.
Most recently, in Phoenix, Arizona, law enforcement investigators seized nearly a million fentanyl pills in a stash house. Just two milligrams of fentanyl can kill one person.

MAYBE when a couple of their kids or grandkids die from Fentanyl, they will wake up.
Their real cash cow is the drug cartels themselves. The democrats are sold out to the drug king pins and narco governments.
no snark. understand the history and basis of communism. at the bottom they (from marx) set up a theoretical duality of good vs evil or not good (as they define good). the way they define it is designed to change as history approaches an ‘ideal.’
their answer to their concept of not good or evil is to kill it for it’s own good.
hopefully that explains it and their actions. the ‘democrats’ are nothing more than radical communists. they are good slaves of their system—just executing their view of destroying evil (i.e., us and anything that we have that gets in their way) of what i call their ‘continuing solution.’

Sounds dumb on it's own. It is used both under direct medical care and as a prescription drug. The problem isn't with an anesthesiologist using it or with a cancer patient getting a precisely dosed patch. It's from some Mexican cartel selling random concentrations of it, often mixed with or replacing other drugs.
Making it a schedule I drug will affect CVS, not Juan selling it out of his trunk.
Fentanyl has legitimate medical uses.

Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.

I had a colonoscopy in July. I was surprised when the anesthesiologist told me that I was getting fentanyl.
Just imagine if it were Russia, instead of China, using criminal gangs to smuggle highly lethal drugs into the USA that kill 100K Americans every year.
What would the response be?
I do recall when Robert Mueller accused “Putin’s Chef” of buying “$100K of facebook ads” in 2016. That investigation took 2 years and nearly took-down a President.
But 100K dead Americans? No biggie.

Hospitals use fentanyl all the time, re-scheduling it as Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act would make it illegal for them to use for any purpose, so I assume that was the major objection to this legislation.
True as well as a sociery based on the financialization of everything and the destruction of the production base as an integral part of this restructuring needs some sort of ‘Soma’ readily available. Men, like sheepdogs, have to have jobs to perform.
