Hey, I think Nancy Kerrigan clubbed herself in the knee and then framed Tonya Harding.

I doubt any of those three ( China, Iram, Ukraine) have the technological capabilities, even thenaval access to that area, to do it though.

It has to be US, UK, Russia, or EU

Hey stupid... Russian controls the tap. There the one that put gas in the pipe to you

If you don’t want to supply something your don’t blow up your own factory or oil field or pipe line.. your just turn off the tap

“I don’t understand. Why would Russia, Who can just turn off the spigot blow up their own pipeline? Assuming a peace deal is reached, they could instantly turn the spigot back on and start the revenue stream. I could easily see a third party, China or Iran (even Ukraine) as having more incentive to do this.”

Well, if — and I emphasize IF — Russia wanted to create a pretext to escalate this war, what better way than to manufacture a false flag to justify it? Kind of like the US did in 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin.

It would be a shame if something happened to other infrastructure like those trans Atlantic fiber cables.

I don’t believe it was Putin.

Blowing the line takes Putin’s leverage away from him and simultaneously prevents Germany from making a side deal to get the gas back on.

My sympathies are with Ukraine in this war, but that has no bearing on who blew the pipeline. Blowing the pipeline makes total sense as a way of taking gas off the table as a pressure point. It makes zero sense for Putin to have ordered it himself.

We can come up with tricky chess moves to explain why he would benefit from blowing his own pipeline, but in this case the simple and direct answer is the right one. I think it was us. We obviously can’t admit it, even if everyone knows.

Could this be the Reichstag fire event to escalate the NWO agenda.

Why would Russia sabotage its own pipeline when they can shut it off at the source by closing a valve? This makes zero sense.

It would, however, fit the agenda of the Biden administration which would be stupid enough to think blowing up the gas pipe line is a way to cut off Russia from ever selling gas to Europe so alternative pipe lines now become a no-choice, and more expensive, option. It would also push the green-new-deal agenda by driving up the price of fossil fuel to even more exorbitant levels. This sort of reckless behavior has the U.S. State Dept and Nuland written all over it, along with the covert help of the CIA.

I can see a scenario where Russia might do this to cast the blame on someone else—ie. a false flag operation.

I don’t see this as any kind of sophisticated attack—we tapped Soviet underwater communications late in the Cold War (read Blind Man’s Bluff) and they had no idea we were even there. How hard would it be to plant explosives on the pipe line and do China, Iran or Ukraine have the assets in the Baltic to pull it off?

I find it hard to believe any FReeper here believes the “It’s Russia, Russia, Russia” nonsense. Biden and Nuland both threatened this before and now it’s done. They stand back and say Russia and everyone falls for it. That’s Gullible with a capital G.

why would they want to escalate the war? they’re already getting their asses kicked. I’d be looking at the guy who already threatened to blow it up and that has the means to do so

This was a dumb move by U.S. State Dept, with the help of the CIA. Nuland has orchestrated a string of disasters (e.g. Afghanistan withdrawal, negotiating with Iran), and this will be another. Having blown up the Russian gas pipeline, the idiots in the State Dept fail to consider the Russians could blow up the pipeline feeds of other European countries. the net result will be no gas just as Winter sets in.

I cannot wrap my head around why Russia would destroy its own pipelines. Those pipelines would theoretically be a huge chip at the bargaining table should negotiations break out. It just makes no sense.

Anyone know how deep the water is at the rupture points?

If it is hundreds of feet deep, a ship would need to come to a full stop to plant explosives or grapple the pipe.

Someone would register that - satellite photo, radar screens of nearby ships, local seismic events, etc.

~~~
This really doesn’t seem like the kind of escalation that would end well for Russia, albeit there will be a LOT of others to suffer. Putin would have to be in a very dark place to to shooting himself in the leg and basically toss the chess board in favor of destruction.
Its utterly asinine
Russia built, owned and operated NS. It cost them something like $10 billion. Moreover, NS was Russia’s main energy/political leverage over Germany. They have attempted to use NS to pry Germany away from NATO and the US for 10 years.
So the theory is: Russia has blown-up their own best strategic weapon?
Note too, now any gas to Germany now must flow through Ukraine.
We’ve got a lot of propaganda in this war, but the BS is just too much this time.
