I decided to check the issue of armaments left in Afghanistan and found it is more complex than frequently stated by those who do not know the details.

This article points out that the $7 billion figure mostly refers to material turned over to the Afghan government over 16 years prior to our pulling out. This would mostly have been done by several administrations prior to Biden’s election. Items that were left in Baghram were not turned over to the Taliban and were mostly rendered useless. Also much of the equipment there needed maintenance by skilled Americans along with American parts, no longer available to Taliban.
One thing that surprised me was information about equipment turned over to or moved to Ukraine before the Feb. 24th invasion. “five Mi-17 helicopters that had been in Afghanistan were officially transferred to Ukraine in 2022, though they were already in Ukraine for maintenance before the US left Afghanistan.” Also equipment that was in the pipeline for Afghanistan but not delivered has now been sent to Ukraine. The Taliban did end up with small items they are capable of using at their level of education. It is likely that some of this ended up in other than Taliban hands as well.

Even while a true Believer, and a true conservator, I have been heavily tied to the US IC, and am aware, while acting as a true puppet, team Biden turned over loyal to US “assets” and their families (often Christian Afghans, Chinese, and CIS nationals), to be hunted down and gruesomely tortured and murdered.
Bush and Trump had developed significant US assets which puppet Biden turned over to Moscow, Beijing, and Iran.

You are correct, and I do agree with you, there are different ways to parley much of the equipment.
But it was really really bad.
