And by that, keeping Germany from easing sanctions.
Ukraine does. And by extension (for reasons I don’t understand) I guess we do.
Now there is no pressure on Germany to surrender to get their natural gas. They’re gonna freeze no matter what.
Anything is possible. I suppose if this were true the motive wouldn’t be to freeze Europe but to keep potential defectors from forcing “premature” negotiations with Russia. If Russia doesn’t supply gas, or if Russia cannot supply gas, then there is no reason to negotiate with Russia.
The Russian aggression against Ukraine is unconscionable. But we’ve heard enough stories about Ukrainian corruption to make one wonder what is really motivating our political class.

Posting here from atop one of the larger natural gas lines in the Eastern US. There has never been a leak even after 25 years of being here.
A construction worker was drilling down into the ground a few feet from my window . He hit and ruptured the pipe. Our CEO was running about telling everyone to leave the building and go far away.
You could see the gas soaring up into the air, well not the actual gas, just soil and leaves and whatnot it was carrying.
I don’t think you would have two of these pipes rupture, one in two places, just on their own. Especially all at one time. Especially with explosions. Especially since everything was under water and free oxygen was not around.

Vegetable head will never admit he made a huge mistake by his sanctions on Russia and weaponizing the Dollar. Russia’s Counter sanctions have crippled the West. Even Hungary and Italy ( and others) have stated the idiocy, the EU is fracturing.
