Senior leaders at the Secret Service reportedly confiscated the cellphones of 24 agents who were involved with the Jan. 6, 2021, response and delivered the phones to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) inspector general.

A source familiar confirmed to The Hill that the phones were handed to Inspector General Joseph Cuffari’s office after a July 19 letter was sent to the agency from DHS investigators indicating he had begun a criminal probe. NBC News first reported the development.

Phones must of had evidence of antifa/FBI/Hillary involvement?

The cell phones needed to disappear because the GPS data would show them opening the doors, or standing on top of scaffolding where they yelled at people to enter the building.

“Phones must of had evidence of antifa/FBI/Hillary involvement?”

That is what I am thinking.

Completely unrelated to this article - but imagine working for a Fed.gov agency, and being under constant political scrutiny, such that your phones are confiscated, you face the risk of political investigation as a group, etc...

How do they ever get anything done, completely wrapped up in ideology, politics and bureaucracy? I would be like living in Stalin’s Soviet Union

For clarification (deep in the article), "Senior leaders at the Secret Service reportedly confiscated the cellphones of 24 Secret Service agents..."

"The agents [whose phones were confiscated] involved reportedly dispute [former WH aide Cassidy] Hutchinson’s telling of events but have not testified publicly and one has since retired from the Secret Service."

So the SS bosses are collecting phones from agents who contradict the lies told by Hutchinson to the J6 Congressional Committee.

A second "burner phone" is fast becoming a MUST for anyone questioning or protesting the FBI/DOJ Gestapo.

The Secret Service must be inept. They are heavily armed and trained, right? And they were not successful in capturing the Capitol and overthrowing the government. (Is a sarcasm tag really required for the slow people?)

With fbi whistleblowers starting to emerge, they need to clamp down on any incriminating evidence that may be leaked. The threats inside the agency to anyone considering exposing the thoroughly corrupt agency must be pretty severe.

...The phones were mysteriously all put into an MRI machine, then accidentally sent thru a wood chipper.

'- but imagine working for a Fed.gov agency, and being under constant political scrutiny, such that your phones are confiscated, you face the risk of political investigation as a group, etc...'

One would hope that .gov phones are always monitored and scrutinized. Those are our phones. The opposite has been occurring. The FBI wiped and destroyed 'their' phones all the time. There is no oversight or repercussions for tapering and getting rid of data on the government side. We've allowed .gov to operate with impunity.

Is it time to go silent ? Or do they have the ovens ready yet?
