Thousands gathered in Brussels, Belgium today to demand the government take more action as many struggle to pay bills. Energy prices in Belgium and other European countries have shot up over the past months, partly driven by the fallout of the war in Ukraine. Our correspondent Rosie Birchard spoke to some of the protesters about their concerns as Europe's winter approaches.

The Bundestag calls on the country to negotiate with Russia ‘with an open mind’, as anti-Russian sanctions begin to take their toll on the deteriorating economy and energy scarcity.
In a tweet on Thursday, German left-wing politician and chairman of the Bundestag committee on energy, Klaus Ernst, referenced statements by Chancellor Olaf Scholz that the sanctions should not hit Europe harder than Russia itself: “We have now imposed seven packages of sanctions and Gazprom is making record profits. At the same time, we are threatened with a wave of bankruptcies. Therefore: negotiate with Russia with an open mind”.

They can start by killing Klaus Schwab for starting the war and other economic crises.
They need to switch EU power turbines over to liquid fuels.
The Poles probably need kerosene heaters and oil furnaces.
Southern Europe should try to deploy Israeli-style solar water heating.
The same high cost of living they voted for. Man, people really are dumb and never take responsibility for their actions.

Prices of energy are out of the roof and people are really suffering.
But, the proposed and/or implemented solutions are terrible - government payments for energy subsidy, price control, nationalizations. Just socialistic/communistic solutions!
None of them addresses the supply side - there is just not enough energy there!
The root cause - the global warming hysteria which caused Europe to shut their rich coal resources, seems to be ignored.
Belgium sits on huge coal reserves, which fueled its development into a very rich country, BTW!
