Maybe not quite right. With the improvements in valve and sealing technology some new gas appliances no longer require a pilot light. Off is truly off.

Excel would have to know with absolute certainty that ALL your gas appliances don't require a pilot light, your water heater, that old furnace in the basement, the gas stove, the space heater in the garage/workshop, everything.
