Gibson’s Bakery Wins! Ohio Supreme Court Refuses To Hear Oberlin College Appeal
Legal Insurrection ^ | 08/30/2022 | William Jacobsen

Hopefully the long, hard road Gibson’s Bakery has traveled in its fight with Oberlin College has come to an end.

The Ohio Supreme Court just refused to accept jurisdiction over Oberlin College’s appeal (the Court also refused to hear the Gibsons’ appeal seeking to reinstate the full punitive damages award). It was a 4-3 decision, and it means the Gibsons now can collect approximately $36 million.

Good for them. Too bad it won't bankrupt Oberlin.

GIVE THE BAKERY WHAT IS DUE TO THEM! This has dragged out for too long-I heard that not a cent has been paid. They have obviously been trying to outlast them.

The Least they can do is to tithe to the Trump 2024 campaign!

This is a scratch on Oberlin’s budget. It is amazing how hard they fought it, it was mean and vindictive.

As of March 2021, Oberlin’s endowment fund exceeded $1 billion. They can easily afford the settlement.

I bet Oberlin will still not pay. Maybe they will even try appealing to a Federal court. Lefties don’t think the law applies to them.

It’s a shame the co-owners died before the Ohio SC could make this decision...

That’s unfortunate. They should be entitled to the entire endowment. this is hardly an institution of higher learning.

Send a subpoena for the college’s bank account information, or depose someone who knows it, request an execution from the Sheriff, then walk into the bank with the execution and walk out with $36 Million of the college’s money.

Oberlin College is really evil incarnate. Don’t send your kids there.

Yes, at least one of the Gibson family members passed away with the judgment still up in the air.

Still, Oberlin's desire to twist the knife cost them a lot of interest money (something like $10 million, I believe).

I'll be surprised if the Gibsons get everything they're owed.

Hhahahah...Pay up liberal-commie useless eaters. Right after the Gibson family gets their 33 million dollar payment, they must close all their stores, give their employees bonuses, and leave Oberlin town for better places.

Welcome to the liberal, Globalist, Neocon mindset. They simply want to be the new Masters of the Universe and they will RISK EVERYTHING in fighting for that goal.

Oberlin just might go to Federal court on this. So this is not over and done.
