A lot of misinfo in this thread.

Trump's lawyers have the warrant, but aren't disclosing its contents. They complained it was thin, but that was about it.

But they didn’t have it at the time of the commencement of the raid as per Eric.

“They complained it was thin, but that was about it.”

A warrant does not need to state the legal rationale - it needs to state the scope and limitations of the search authorization and must have a judge’s signature.

As for the legal rationale, it is largely implied: namely that law enforcement has reason to believe the subpoena process would be insufficient and a surprise search is necessary, due to the risk that evidence might otherwise be destroyed.

In other words, the warrant need not convince anyone of the need to enter the property and search - it only needs to show that a judge was convinced, and state the scope of the search authorization.

If your lawyer contests a warrant, they must take it up with the judge after the fact, through some sort of appeals process.

At least that is my understanding from listening to Levin, Dershowitz and others.

I think a lot of misinformation is tied to the confusion about where the various people involved in this were located.

1. Trump has been spending his summers at his golf club in Bedminster, NJ for years. Even when he was President he’d spend 3-4 weeks there every summer.

2. Everyone involved in this fiasco would have known this.

3. I haven’t seen any indication that any Trump family member was at Mar-A-Lago.

4. Any Secret Service agents on the premises at Mar-A-Lago were likely just the skeleton staff that guards the homes of a former President.

5. It sounds like a Trump attorney in Florida was dispatched to the scene shortly before or after the FBI arrived.

Sorry sport, handing them the warrant as you leave does not suffice legally.
The FBI is a pack of stinking liars. Their warrant was not legitimate, or they would’ve happily handed it over to his attorney as she stood there. Second of all, if they stuck to the scope of the warrant they would have no problem with the lawyer standing quietly observing them. It would’ve been a protection for them. The FBI lies and cannot be trusted. And then they do things like this which are precisely what someone with something to hide would do.

But the Stasi appreciates your support.

Eric Trump said that the FBI refused to give Trump's lawyer, Christina Bobb, a copy of the search warrant but "showed it to her from about 10 feet away," DailyMail.com reported. He also said he would be "thrilled" to find out if there was a valid reason for the search.
However, Bobb told The New York Times a day earlier that she received a copy of the warrant.

"a day earlier" than when?

"There's 30 agents there," he recalled on Wednesday

Today is Wednesday, the date of this article. Why do they write like this?
