Having been born and raised in Arizona, I always pronounced it to rhyme with canal.
I moved from Scottsdale to Maricopa in 2010. It cracks me up to hear outsiders try to pronounce Pinal County. BTW, Maricopa is now the largest city in Pinal County and still growing rapidly. Hubby is also a realtor if anyone has questions. 🤣
