Kansas Overwhelmingly Votes to Uphold Abortion ‘Rights’
Breitbart ^ | August 2, 2022 | Paul Bois

The pro-life movement suffered a defeat in Kansas on Tuesday when the state overwhelmingly voted to uphold abortion “rights.”

The vote in Kansas on Tuesday centered on whether or not the state would remove abortion rights protections in the State Constitution, potentially paving the way for “state lawmakers to pass far-reaching abortion restrictions, or even to pursue a ban,” according to the New York Times.

With 76 percent reporting, the “No” votes to keep abortion rights in place beat the “Yes” votes by double digits – 62.2 percent versus 37.7 percent as of this writing. Both NBC News and the New York Times have projected “No” as the referendum winner.

Abortion activists and Democrat lawmakers celebrated the victory.

“This is huge: abortion rights were on the ballot for the first time since Roe, and the people of Kansas voted to preserve access,” tweeted Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). “I’m grateful down to my toes for everyone who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks.”

Strategically targeted election or is it the case that Kansas is a bellweather for this issue?

Anyone who thought that abortion alone wasn’t enough of an issue to get people out to vote just got a wake-up call.

States choosing to codify their own abortion laws without federal interference. In other words the way it should have been since a long time ago.

Liberals turned up in mass to vote ‘no’, while conservatives treated it like a usual primary election and ignored it.

After 170 years, the name, “Bleeding Kansas,” just doesn’t want to go away.

Disappointing, but whether the vote was Yea or Nay is still a victory for States Rights as the people of Kansas at least had, and will have again, the right to decide for themselves on this issue and not have it mandated from Washington.

“They chose death”

Don’t be silly. They chose sex.

They are getting death, yes. But the enormous electoral popularity of abortion, all over the world (cases in point: Quebec and Ireland) are not about ripping babies apart, they are about extramarital sex.

Watch for Democrats to rush abortion referendums onto the 2024 ballot the exact way they tied legalizing Marijuana onto the ballot to turn out all the stoners.

The GOP controlled Kansas legislature put the referendum on the ballot. They thought the competitive GOP primaries would bring out conservative voters.

We now live in a nation where millions of women have had abortions. Millions of people have supported them. Millions of men virtue signal to the girlfriends. So it’s not the same country it was 50 years ago. The fact that Roe existed changes the moral fabric of America.

Although I disagree with abortion, I believe it’s a state issue not federal so if that’s what the voters decide so be it.

“States choosing to codify their own abortion laws without federal interference. In other words the way it should have been since a long time ago.”

Agreed

As most laws should be, and folks can choose were they want to live. Convince your fellow citizens. Not the job of the Feds.

This is the reality of the vote. This child at 22 weeks can legally be dismembered and killed.

It’s up to the states, not the Feds. If that’s what the voter want, then so be it

Does the same standard apply to, say, slavery?

“They chose death ... Don’t be silly. They chose sex.”

Funny! Not only that but they chose a kind of sex that produces babies.

A problem with the pro-abortion people is that the mere statement of their position (for abortion) suggests that if this bad thing is legal then it is not bad.
