Throughout his 20-plus year rule, Vladimir Putin has consolidated power through graft, intimidation, manipulation of the Russian legal system, and forcefully silencing critics.
Putin’s ability to sustain subservience and loyalty to his authority is no small feat, especially in a political culture of ruthless power politics.
His reputation as a master tactician abroad has also been carefully cultivated, if not exaggerated.

That being said, I think the point is generally correct. The Syrian expedition didn't help Russia, and the Georgian and Ukrainian wars have turned many of the other former Soviet republics (hey, that's what they called them...) and the rest of Europe against them.
The centuries-old ambition of Peter the Great for Russia to become more influential in the rest of Europe -- has pretty much died. Russia's future will now be tied more closely to Asia than to Europe.
Of course, there's a chance that's what Putin wanted all along, so maybe he is the winner in all this.
“seventy-five billion of our tax money”
We are demilitarizing RuZZia on the cheap!
Imagine if we could demilitarize China for 75B. We’d be jumping on that deal.
And they are dying by the thousands every month for little territorial gains.
They have about wrapped up the east get these nuts here but they’re getting world so funny
He might not be a master tactician but he’s gaining territory and Ukraine is losing territory.
Of course he wasn’t/isn’t.
You can’t fool an entire population for decades into “needing” overly massive military expenditures if the boogieman is really as incompetent as our “best” politicians.
Yes and I confess I truly did not believe the Russians were serious about the Ukraine.
I usually hate the Nazi comparisons but same was true with Hitler. He made innumerable tactical mistakes in the war that his generals fought against. As a political leader he was a mastermind.
Your debate technique is amazing. I would actually deem you a masterdebater.
Putin is a mad dog killer and Biden is a raving lunatic. Nice world we have.
Well, Sunshine, you’ve been calling this thing over for months, yet, it’s still here. You’re not very observant.
“you’ve been calling this thing over for months”
What? I’ve said this war goes on for years. Maybe a decade.
ZOT.
Putin may be a “master tactician”

If he was, like other ‘competent’ Russian generals, he’d lead from the front.
Spewing regime propaganda doesn't pay well...just ask Speedy.😀
Fact is Putin has checkmated every single one of senile Joes sanctions ... Russia keeps getting richer

Well, Pootie is still working on high-grade ball bearings manufactured only in Sweden, and advanced chips manufactured only in Taiwanese and US Fabs.
Russian GDP is projected by the Russian Bureau of Statistics to fall around 50% by the end of the year, if not next month:
Russian Statistical Bureau’s Industry Report for May.
Manufacturing:
Passenger Cars down 97%
Buses down 77%
Railroad Locomotives down 63%
Railroad Carriages down 52% (in part due to ball bearing shortage).
Passenger Railroad Cars down 40%
Elevators down 35%
Pumps down 30%
Electrical Motors down 50%
Glass down 61%
Household Goods down 63%
Refrigerators down 58%
you’ve been calling this thing over for months”
What? I’ve said this war goes on for years. Maybe a decade.

Think again The only thing keeping the Ukies afloat is western money and arms. The west is broke, and they are running out of arms to give away…the deep corrupted Ukie black hole WILL cease at some point.
The Ukies are on life support, economy totally destroyed, manufacturing destroyed, the west paying billions to pay their government to keep it running, Ukies now conscripting females, in short: the corrupted little beggar is doing a good job of demilitarizing his own country.
That said, I expect this regional conflict goes on like our Gulf War 1, and 2, etc…
At the least, Vlad will keep the eastern and southern provinces, make no mistake. That will keep the door open to Ukie War 2 and possibly three.
It is only amazing that you believe the propaganda the globalists put out - lap it up and breathlessly repost it.
Yeah, maybe Putin had a good plan (to him) but lacked the proper tools and equipment to execute them. Now he appears recklessly attacking civilians out of desperation.
He probably just has to shut of the NordStream until March and the alliance against him will crumble.
