Biden won’t fight inflation because he doesn’t want to anger unions and greenies

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the surging inflation tearing through the economy is how little the White House and Congressional leaders seem to care. The latest inflation report is brutal. Prices are up 9.1% over the past year — the highest rate since 1981.

While many experts keep predicting inflation to slow down, the June rate soared at an annualized rate of nearly 17%. Nearly all parts of the economy are buckling under rising prices. Price increases in the past year have leaped for groceries (12%), gas (60%), electricity (14%), new cars (11%), and flights (34%).

Over the past 18 months, the combination of growing home prices and mortgage rates has pushed up the monthly mortgage on a new median-priced home from $1,195 to $1,904.

If there are no electoral consequences because of widespread election fraud, why would they care? Only possible explanation.

I agree. No politician can survive a deflationary environment. Inflationary....yes.

The Fed screwed up by cut .75. If they try to railroad this, they will break it.

Trump knew this was coming.......you can’t print money endlessly. Someone ends up with the Old Maid. JOE DID!

He won’t fight inflation because he has dementia.
His handlers won’t fight inflation because they hate this country and want to destroy the concepts of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I’m in favor of ~15% deflation.

There’s no good to come from a Fed target larger than Zer0.

One cannot help but feel that the roller coaster is about to hit the brick wall of reality.

They have broken our nation and look no further than DC and the surrounding counties which comprise half of the wealthiest counties in the country.

Social security, medicaid, and medicare are ticking time bombs with no reform possible under our current political structure and that was true before we brought in 20 million immigrants who will NEVER pay in what they consume.

AI and robotics will likely replace a sizeable chunk of low-skilled labor in our economy decreasing the tax base and raising the cost of unemployment.

I could keep writing, but what is the point? Before anyone suggests that the GOP taking congress will reverse these trends please point to evidence where McConnell and McCarthy are going to change their ways. Sure, I hope that they slow the chaos coming from the left, but we are in need of a national overhaul and we will NOT get it from the GOPe who like spending money just as much as the left.

You pretend to assume you know how things will turn out. If the last three years proved anything nothing is predictable.

Wow, that was a good article from Townhall.

https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2017/02/06/the-left-hates-you-act-accordingly-n2281602

This is why it’s so infuriating to see old guard GOP just getting run over all the time and saying “Gee shucks, well we can get them next time”.

It’s like seeing someone whose car is stalled out on the railroad tracks with a train coming as you scream for them to get out of the car but they just sit there trying to crank the engine.

There are things that COULD be done to tangibly ease if not reverse the situation, they are simply electing not to do them.

Inflation has one beneficiary, that being the government immersed deeply in irretrievable debt. As the value of the dollar plunges debt servicing and even repayment becomes cheaper. The time could come when our 30 trillion dollar national debt can be written off, or technically, paid off in worthless dollars.

Maybe this whole inflation cycle is planned, just clearing the decks for the Great Reset to come when government goes global.

“I agree. No politician can survive a deflationary environment. Inflationary....yes.”

You’re correct.

Historically inflation is better than deflation for Presidents not named Carter.

Presidents Van Buren & Hoover both lost their re elections because of a massive deflationary economy.

Try paying debt back without a job and a low demand for your labor. Deflation is a bitch and killer of economic expansion.
