Doctor Who Spread Story About 10-Year-Old’s Abortion Disciplined For HIPAA Violation: REPORT

The doctor who spread a story about a 10-year-old girl who allegedly travelled from Ohio to Indiana for an abortion is being disciplined for a HIPAA violation for taking the story to the press, Fox News reported.
The story originated from Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist who claimed the girl couldn’t legally obtain an abortion in her home state of Ohio. The story came under scrutiny given its single-source nature and Bernard’s history of pro-abortion activism, but an unnamed source has purportedly corroborated the story and revealed new details about the repercussions the doctor is now facing, according to Fox.
A 10-year-old Ohio girl did travel to Indiana for an abortion, a source familiar with the situation told Fox, but it remains unclear whether she was actually forced to cross state lines or was simply referred to the Indianapolis clinic after Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said she would have been allowed to have an abortion in the state. Bernard’s employer is disciplining her for violating HIPAA, the federal law protecting patients’ sensitive medical information, for sharing the child’s story publicly.

Now the guy will get off the rape charge because there is no DNA evidence.

Wasn’t he just arrested? Maybe if they were going to prove the story, they had to also prove that the rapist was arrested. Forcing the story forward, forced officials to arrest him?

Nothing will happen. She embarrassed the President because it was an illegal immigrant who was the perpetrator! She will get the full weight of the Federal Government on this one. She went from hero to goat…. 🐐

So the rape part of the story is true, but...
The real headline is that the rapist is an illegal alien.

Nothing will happen. ... she should have a min 1 year license suspention Right. She should, but nothing, or virtually nothing will happen. She's a known far-left activist and it's a federal regulation. At most, a letter of reprimand.

It's really good to know that nobody here's getting too worked up about a pregnant 10 year old child who was raped.
Surprising that there aren't any comments about whether or not she was dressing provocatively or came on to her rapist.
Oh wait, it's an article presenting a pro-abortion slant....so nothing else matters.

“And I’m sure “she” won’t be paying that.”
I found the rule and it’s punish listed guidelines. It is currently up to the someone to determine the amount. Not sure who it is going to be. The doc’s in Ohio, the performing doc is in Indiana, and it could possibly be determined to be covered within interstate commerce and opens up a whole can of worms.
Ohio AG is Dave Yost, a strong republican
Indiana AG is Todd Rokita, another strong republican
Lord knows who they will ask to fall on their sword to determine the punishment for this obvious hippa violation going through the commerce department. The people there may look like the road runner when he opens it up and leaves a trail of flame behind him.
At this point there is no doubt there needs to be some painful punishment applied. Especially since the child could have asked and been treated with the abortion in Ohio. This one may make the courts not for the procedure but for the illegal action of the Ohio doctor by denying the child the abortion besides lying to the patient and who has jurisdiction.
Additional, the entire effort of erasing Roe was to get it out of the federal courts and back into a medical determination so the feds can’t touch states’ rights. Hope this doesn’t reopen even the smallest piece of that.

Was there an official report filed with law enforcement? If not she is in violation.

A call or text to the parole officer should get him a get out of jail free card. While the incident is occurring anyway
