Two 16-year-olds were shot after they tried stealing an SUV with a married couple and their two babies inside, Texas cops say.
The shooting happened just after midnight on Monday, July 11, in Houston, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The family had just arrived at their home when the teens walked up to their SUV and opened a back door, the sheriff said.
Gonzalez said the father, fearing for the safety of his family, fired at the 16-year-olds, striking them both.

The wife drove away to get away from the suspects, and another car came up and picked up the two 16-year-olds, the sheriff said.
Both teenagers were taken to the hospital, where they are listed in fair condition, according to Gonzalez. The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff did not announce any charges against the teenagers.

The right to self defense is absolute, and that applies to defending one’s family.
Anyone who hijacks a car or breaks into a home has lost his right to life.
Unfortunately it won’t be lesson learned. They’ll just be more wary...next time. The more unfortunate part is they aren’t DRT.
No charges against the two 16 years old yet. This is in Harris County TX. TX freepers chip in, but isn’t that ‘progressive’ territory?

Aggravated robbery. A jury I was on sent the defendant away for 60 years. One of the punishment phase witnesses told how the perps ambushed him and his wife when they were coming home at night, and pointed a shotgun at the baby’s HEAD.

And the shooter was either hispanic or black. A white guy shooting two 16 yo’s would get charged everything in the book.
There are about 3 counties here in Texas that might as well be San Francisco... Harris (Houston), Travis (Austin), and Dallas County just south of my home and where I work...

As theirs very few people of color in this town ....I was at a Mexican Restaurant Sunday when about 20 Mexicans or whatever filed in....it was enough that the people I was with gave a heads up of caution. First time we'd observed that in this restaurant.
They probably learned a wrong lesson. Like be armed and shoot first next time.
