The apparent Highland Park mass murderer who shot up the city’s Independence Day parade yesterday was on the prowl at the local Chabad center earlier this year. The center is located on Central a few blocks from the site of the shooting and sheltered escapees of the attack. Rabbi Yosef Schanowitz recognized the photo released by police following the shooting and realized he had encountered the suspect a few months earlier.
“During the last Passover holiday, that person entered the Chabad synagogue. We have an armed security guard sitting in front… I approached him and sternly asked him to leave as I noticed he was not a member of our community,” Schanowitz was quoted as saying. He said he was in touch with the families of the victims and was “trying to be as helpful as we can at this difficult time.”
Chabad News has more here. It quotes the rabbi: “People should pray for Highland Park and do an extra act of goodness for us.”
I understand that there is more to this part of the story, but I am unable to reach the center to confirm it. My attempt to reach the rabbi by telephone went directly to voicemail this morning. I am afraid they are otherwise occupied. For now, I concur in Ann Coulter’s judgment.

“...I noticed he was not a member of our community,”
Crimo had to be acting weird or putting off some horrible vibe for Chabad to ask him to leave. Chabad-Lubavitch is legendary for hospitality to strangers.

Observant Jews aren’t big on face tattoos?

For certain reasons, I am rebelling against society. I chose to transition to a mullet hairstyle, rather than get a tattoo.
1. My protest is temporary, and I get enough funny looks with my hair. In a few months, I will grow my hair back to a long bob.
2. Someday I may want to be buried in a Jewish Cemetery.
LOL. Normally, I’m a buzz-cut guy...but I started letting my hair grow when the COVID thing hit. My hair is thick & white. It’s now down below my shoulders, which I wear in a ponytail. I’m 71...and could care less what people think anymore.
Nice. My male requirements used to be: his hair had to be longer than mine, he had to weigh more than me and be taller than me.
then it was he had to be employed, have hair and teeth.
Now I ask 2 simple questions:
a. Are you married
b. Do you have a big pension.
That is what I was wondering...surely it wasn’t just the tattoos, unless he has some we haven’t seen yet. Although it would alert them to be cautious, no doubt. Wonder if he had a selfie stick with him or was behaving weird.
Passover would be April 2022 when police were called to his house over him threatening suicide. It is when a lot of his postings were removed from the web.
Guy has a rose tattoo, wonder when he got it? The rose is the symbol of choice for Portland Antifa, which is a group rather fond of guns.
They had a synagogue attacker:

Portland reporter Mike Bivins was arrested on Saturday over alleged attacks of vandalism and arson at houses of worship, according to the Portland Police Bureau. Michael E. Bivins, 34, of Portland, Oregon was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center early Saturday. Bivins was charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, and arson in the first degree. On April 30, Bivins allegedly broke windows to Congregation Shir Tikvah, a Jewish Synagogue, located at 2420 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland. On May 2, Bivins allegedly graffitied the Jewish Synagogue Congregation Beth...
Note the Portland synagogue attack date, April 2022.
The issue is not that mentally ill young men get guns. It is that there is no particular urgency to identify and constrain such people.
Jewish laws regarding the proper care and respect of one’s body basically prohibits any defacing of it.
He wasn’t that mentally ill. He could tell the difference between a place with armed guards and the big GUN FREE zone around Highland Park. He wasn’t mentally ill, he is evil and a coward.
How would we do that?
Pathological homicidal is a thing.
agreed. I like the idea of unremitting pain as a recompense. Sounds horrid, I know. The pain he has caused should be met with some personally felt experience of his actions.
I suppose the masochists among us would search it out. This is a grievous problem.
