They fear that Greitens WILL win in November so it's "get a third choice going" time, to split the vote.
Greitens is virulently anti-McConnell, so in their view he MUST be defeated at all cost.
Divide and conquer tactic. Yep.
Lemme guess...he’s really a Rat but will pretend to be a “moderate” to take votes from the GOP candidate.
No, he is not a Rat. He’s a Danforth Repub.
I would bet that someone who worked on the J6 committee is not going to attract a lot of Republican votes. Might offer the Dims a moderate choice, however.
There’s a resume enhancer, worked for the J6 committee.
You nailed it. The main objective is for Woods to take away enough votes from Greitens for the Anheuser-Busch heiress to win as the Democrat candidate.
A REPUBLICAN lawyer on the January 6 COMMITTEE?
The DEMOCRATS are much better than Republicans at strategy.
The GOP is afraid of its own shadow. They get elected on a conservative platform and then they run away from it, it's amazing.
Why would we want Greitens to be the nominee when there are better conservatives - and certainly far better people that would not tarnish the brand - running? People who didn't resign their previous office in disgrace while having liaisons in office, for example? People who weren't Leftists until they decided to run for office in a conservative state?
It’s easy to see why. There are a number of reasons.
1. After they win, they hire political advisors from PR firms along K Street & the Beltway. Don’t forget your own state capital & party organization have PR types who really really see themselves as PR guys in Beltway\K Street firms. They think their talents are so wasted back in the state’s Bugtussle capital.
2. They are immediately besieged by lobbyists wanting something that will “really really help the folks back home”. Only true if you have a really expanded definition of what “back home is!”! Also, there might even be something in it for members of the conservative politician’s family that can’t hold a real job.
3. They hire staff from the pool of congressional staffers that are already there. Their self-interest is to feather that nest.
4. All the above give advice on how to win re-election. This is in the self-interest of everyone.
The common thread is all of the above sing the same song of the interests of the Beltway. In 10 years or sooner the Beltway becomes the “good conservative politician’s” constituents not his state or district. Many don’t even know it has happened. Of course, there are those mostly Rat, but many professional GOP politicians arrive there already trained to serve the Beltway. The conservative PROFESSIONAL politician is already halfway there and likely doesn’t know it! (This is why I am suspicious of ALL PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS! This includes DeSantis!)
“Why would we want Greitens to be the nominee when there are better conservatives”
Because it’s the same friggin trap as always. “this guy’s waaaay to controversial so let’s nominate another McConnell stooge because we’re too afraid to go for broke”
And that’s how we get 14 Republican senators voting for gun restrictions.
Brought on board by Cheney.
THAT makes sense!!
It’s not a trap. He’s an individual person. We should care about our nominees as the credibility of what we purport to believe is an issue. He is not a credible messenger.
“and certainly far better people that would not tarnish the brand - running? People who didn’t resign their previous office in disgrace while having liaisons in office, for example? People who weren’t Leftists until they decided to run for office in a conservative state?”
And please don’t respond lifting a partial comment out of its context - that’s essentially not responding to the point.
BRAVO great post my sentiments exactly, we keep winning elections YET losing our republic AND it is because WE keep electing SQUISH McConnell republicans!! It is damn time WE GO FOR BROKE!! I like Greitens he is in your face!!!
Who the hell is a credible messenger, McConnell, McCarthy, LYIN RYAN???
Please try responding to the actual comments I made. Is that really too much to ask?
