Miami’s Radio Mambí, a mainstay of the right-wing Cuban community in Florida, is among 18 stations being sold to a group funded by George Soros.
Florida conservatives are in an uproar about a proposed media deal that would result in one of the state’s most rabidly conservative talk radio stations being sold to a group headed by prominent Democratic activists and partially funded by businessman George Soros, seen by some as a progressive bogeyman. Under the proposed $60 million deal, the new Latino Media Network would take control of 18 radio stations in 10 of the cities with highest concentration of Spanish-speaking voters, among them New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston.

Air America lasted how long?
About two years I think?
Not that Soros cares but they will fail and just as we did with tech the Latino community will find a way to start their own stations, they will not listen to Soros garbage!!
Why would anybody sell anything to Soros?
The enemy never sleeps.
And yes, the love of money is (one of) the root(s) of all evil.
PING!
Is there any way to examine the terms of the sale to determine if anything is actionable in civil court? Time to sue Soros into oblivion.
And yes, if I were President, I would extradite him to one of the countries that wants to jail his ass. Rollerball, baby!
Less than you’d think. Ever fewer people are listening to terrestrial radio. This is like people complaining that Gannett or McClatchy were buying up newspapers in the last decade.
Because like newspapers, nobody is consuming their output. The radio business is bleeding out.
Latinos driving, especially long hours, would probably listen...
There are often more ads than music on terrestrial Spanish stations - and they’re all listening to various online streaming services now anyway. Why do you think Joe Rogan going to Spotify was so horrific to the Left? It’s because that’s where the audience is now.
Nobody cares about terrestrial radio now except old people that don’t keep up. It’s Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM, etc., etc. Many are free or included with other services.
It has been said that rich people would happily sell the rope to be used to hang them.
Hey, I’m one of those “old people,” and I’m perfectly happy with regular talk radio.
That’s fine - but the fact of the matter is that terrestrial radio audiences have been shrinking. Terrestrial radio has been forming associations to get their product on apps. People have rejected it, and they keep consolidating and trying again in another app with a new name to try to get someone, anyone to listen.

There are reasons that all the top talkers are leaving, moving away from, deprecating or limiting their participation in terrestrial radio.
Do what you like - but don’t expect that everyone else likes it or does it too.
Or put another way - yes, you like terrestrial talk radio, but your favorite talkers probably already are or will be soon available through a streaming service, download or similar. Terrestrial radio is not the only outlet for them now, and it’s increasingly less profitable.
At the end of his career, Rush Limbaugh renewed a $400M deal to be broadcast over terrestrial radio, sure. But the renewal included being streamed over what was then the IHeartRadio app, run by the IHeartMedia Group. (This later sort of morphs into Radio.com and Audacy.) Right before his cancer announcement, his streaming listener numbers *exceeded* his estimated terrestrial listeners.
This is why we lose. And why we lost.
Does anyone actually listen to radios any more?
These are different people. They are malleable, low IQ-ers from other countries who no wanna es-peak ingles. They no wanna be a citizen and care zero about the constitution. They will leave their squalor and bring the squalor to enclaves all across the country, next to, or even in, the nice neighborhoods. They are happy when they have enough money for the gallon jug of fabuloso and plastic trash bags and will gladly displace American workers to do so.

I listen to radio every day. Sometimes amplitude modulation and sometimes frequency modulation.
