Per the signed Minsk agreements of 2014, Vlad keeps the ethnic Russian provinces ( Donbass) as should be( about 20 percent), the Ukies have shelled them since 2015.
Question is, when do the Ukies realize the Donbass is a huge problem for them since they declared their Independence. Maybe when Vlad finishes securing the Donbass ( if he wastes no time in closing the pocket) he can trap 15-17,000 Ukies,( current Pentagon estimate) which is looking like a certainty. Maybe that will get the corrupted little beggar Zelensky to the table.
In any case, even by the Pentagon estimates, Vlad can wrap this up sooner than later….all bets off if he decides to eat Odessa for lunch.
