Outspoken Elon Musk has doubled down on his new work-from-home ultimatum sent to Tesla staff Tuesday, sending out a second email to say 'if you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned.'
'Everyone at Tesla is required to spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office per week,' Musk, 50, wrote in a second email sent to staff just hours after the first, which was leaked and reported by Teslarati.
The message, shared by Twitter user @SamNissim, bears the subject line 'To be super clear' and was sent to an email list labeled 'Everyone' at 10:51 pm.
In it, Musk reasserted his commitment to statements made in the previous message - and seemed to take a shot at woke Silicon Valley companies for their remote policies in the process.
'The office must be where your actual colleagues are located, not some remote pseudo office,' it reads, reiterating assertions from the prior email, which stated staff would only be allowed to work from home if they worked 40 hours a week in-office.
Musk then declared: 'If you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned.'

I think this is great. No more playing around in your jammies at home.
I had my doubts at first but I’m becoming a real fan of Elon.
This will cause scores of Twitter employees to update their resumes.
My neighbor works at Tesla N Nevada operations.
Says it is the best job she has ever had. Elon roams the assembly floor & talks to anyone & everyone. He asks IF there is ANY way to do anything more efficiently.
She says he is very personable & wicked smart.
Get off your ass and get to work in other words you snowflakes. Another reason the lazy ass left wants endless covid.
So you can spend eight hours a day in the office, five days a week, THEN you are allowed to continue working at home in the evening to complete your tasks.
He reminds me a lot of Trump. It’s great to see someone else speaking up boldly.
Good for Tesla, lead the way!
Good for Elon. Work is work. That’s why they call it work.
My husband’s niece works at the Tesla facility outside Reno. She loves it and says it’s the best job she’s ever had. She previously worked in billing at a hospital so she had no prior experience in her current job at Tesla.
I think your 8hr work day is a bad assumption. I read this as saying ‘when your 40hrs are done, you can work the rest of the week from home’.
So, can you work 13-14 hours three days and the rest at home?
The advantages of working at home is avoiding useless meetings such as diversity.
twitter search engine really messed up at the moment...looks like it has been going on for awhile today
Musk has to make sure Tesla keeps making a lot of EV's so places like California and countries in Europe will keep forcing other companies to buy carbon credits from Tesla. Making EV's = building up carbon credits in the libo-sphere.
And if Musk gets his way this will be done at the federal level in the U.S. -- all companies will have to pay a carbon tax by buying carbon credits from Tesla. His workers have to work hard to get that done.
How direct of him - sounds like a real company CEO.
Being a public company CEO now seems to be all about managing woke PR and soothing the snowflakes in your own ranks.
I don’t suppose he’ll provide them with Teslas so they don’t have to commute to the tune of 6 dollars per gallon?
I am becoming a big fan of Musk also, he is really coming out of his shell had a grat sense of humor and is fabulous at trolling Libs!!!
I like working from home, but I will give Elon credit, he doesn’t seem the type to let his company become a failing monument to w*ke like Disney.
Can’t help but wonder ... is Twitter feeling the trend?
There is probably a much greater sense of ‘entitlement’ there and such a command can be a WAKEUP to those WOKE employees.
Yes, Elon Musk is not boss now and may never be BUT Twitter will, almost certainly, not return to its previous corporate culture.
