Kash Patel Calls on DOJ to Move Russia Hoax Trials Outside of D.C. After Sussmann Verdict

Former White House national security official Kash Patel called on the U.S. Department of Justice ) to move its Russia hoax trials outside of the Washington D.C. area after a “tainted” jury acquitted Michael Sussmann.

Sussman, former Hillary Clinton Campaign lawyer, was prosecuted on charges of lying to the FBI as part of John Durham’s investigation into the “Russia collusion” hoax. However, a jury acquitted Sussman on these charges after a full trial.

Sussmann gave the FBI data that had been produced by researchers working with the campaign and that purported to link Trump to Russia via Alfa Bank. The accusation was soon found to be groundless, but was part of the overall “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory the Clinton campaign used to smear Trump.

During Sussman’s trial the prosecution used Patel's four-year-old interview with Sussman as evidence. Patel helped then-Rep. Devin Nunes investigate the “Russia collusion” hoax while Nunes served on the House Intelligence Committee. Sussman told the committee he “was working for a client when he went to the FBI claiming that computer evidence showed then-candidate Trump was tied to the Russian government via Alfa Bank.”

“I was the last man who had any faith in D.C. and the Department of Justice. It is now completely gone,” Patel said.

“The D.C. tainted jury pool showed its political stripes and barely deliberated,” Patel said. “Having jury members on a case of this caliber that have donated to such high profile Democrats including Hillary and AOC is beyond unethical.”

“They violated the law and they violated the oaths they took to sit on the jury,” he added.”

Patel also called out Durham and the prosecution for losing a case that “should have been a lock” in light of the “indisputable” evidence.

I can only conclude that they didn’t really want a guilty verdict.

No, I don’t think they did. My question is, if there are any more trials, will anyone be held accountable for anything?

Jury nullification. That’s what happened during slavery...and after. It’s called populism, democracy, mob rule....and it’s sectional. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

I think it’s safe to say, no.

The US constitution specifies the location for criminal trial, “such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed.”

Must the DC be considered a “state” under this provision?

“Having jury members on a case of this caliber that have donated to such high profile Democrats including Hillary and AOC is beyond unethical.“

And Durham didn’t have them tossed.

Why is that?

Hmmm.

Yes but even the constituion supports change of venue when a fair or impartial trial cannot be conducted. The crimes were committed against the entire nation so any region for a trial should suffice!

I think it’s safe to say, you are right, unfortunately.

Assuming you are correct, then D.C. (District of Columbia) IS NOT A STATE ergo the Sussmann trial was not compliant with the Constitution.

Notwithstanding that fact, Durham is no dummy, he knew these 3 marxist democrats were on the jury and he knew the judge was a marxist yet he took no visible steps to correct the situation.

He could have filed a recusal motion against the judge but didn’t. He could have filed a motion to remove the 3 jurors and didn’t. Accordingly, I’m wondering if he got the verdict he really wanted.

Washington, DC is

NOT A STATE

I think I see the problem.

This may become a useful precedent, which will backfire on the Left.

Hardly. I seriously doubt the left will have any problem with D.C. juries.

In the mega-state of Earth, the individual does not matter. What does matter is precedent. They will destroy lives, to get to the point where the law means ONLY what they decide it means. Durham is in on this hoax of Justice too. As is every lawyer, judge and citizen who stands by and does nothing. WE ARE THE SOVEREIGNS. It is not Hillary, Obama, Bill or Epstein who will cause our nation to be judged. It is We the People, who upon acceptance of this responsibility at the founding, took upon ourselves “Self government”. The same way Israel wanted a King, instead of rule by God through his Prophet Samuel. Our inheritance is throwing off the shackles of King George, then replacing him with King Barry, and Lord Nancy of the realm. We put them in power, it is UP TO US, to remove them.

“Yes but even the constituion supports change of venue when a fair or impartial trial cannot be conducted.”

Change of venue within a judicial district only. I don’t believe there is any provision at all for changing venue to another judicial district, but I could be wrong about that. The Constitution doesn’t seem to leave any “wiggle room” for that.

cuz1961: “Washington, DC is

NOT A STATE”

Socon-Econ: “Must the DC be considered a “state” under this provision?”

Right, so it’s not bound by the clause regarding states. But Congress and the courts have added to this rule since the Constitution was written. The way it works now is that crimes must be prosecuted not only in the state where they were committed, but also in the judicial district where they were committed. In many cases, the judicial district is the same as the state boundary. In some, a state will have multiple judicial districts within its borders. Territories like Guam and Puerto Rico have their own judicial districts. Everything that is under federal jurisdiction, but not in a state, or under one of the other district courts, falls under the jurisdiction of the Washington DC district court.

I agree with that. Last I heard, DC was 7% Democrat.
